Will Islam one day become a relatively peaceful religion?

Modern Christianity is a relatively peaceful religion. There was a time in not-too-distant history when Christianity was an extremely bloody and violent religion. Will Islam go thru' the same evolution?

All of the great religions were brought for peace, including Islam. It is the misunderstandings of their followers that lead to war in the name of religion. The processes which cause a reevaluation of people's prejudices are speeding up lately due to the shrinking of the world with rapid communication (such as the internet) and lots of travel and migration. So, I think all religions, including Islam, are going to come to terms with one another, and it won't take as long as it did in the past. Of course, that doesn't mean it won't be a bit rocky along the way!

There are fringes sects of Christianity today which are extremely violent, and the mainstream of Islam is actually fairly peaceful. In the future I would guess that we will hear more about the peaceful side of Islam and begin to assume that Islam is a peaceful religion with a few quacks much like Christianity.

Ohhhh, you mean those few terrorists, who use their religion to further their political belief, extremists out for power and glory. Sort of like the Christians of old.

I don't ever agree when they say Christianity was bloody violent. The Christians were the one persecuted on those old times by the Catholic Church because they wouldn't bow to popes and idols. As to islam, they would be peaceful if they wouldn't follow muhammad anymore...

islam did not kill native americans
Islam did not support Bin Ladin, but he was kicked out from his own country instead

Islam is hit by everywhere. we are peaceful people and that's the problem. we are being taking as an advantage. they change the image of Islam to look like a nasty image, and then give excueses to fight them (thirsty for oil). while in fact muslims want to live in peace and do not want no troubles or fight.
