This is a good and intelligent question. God is a creator of all things. If we reduce God to religion, then we might as well ask which language does God use? Our God created variaty and He loves variaty. We can see and feel that. Religion is our own creation as humans in our quest to re unite with our God. We decide how best we must speak to our God and what we need to be doing as we are at it, as a way of showing how much we love our God. The various ways of communicating to our God we have come up with have brought differences. We have formed groups according to how we feel is acceptable to our God. We even have names for these groups. God's religion is love. With God it does not matter what religion you belong to, as long as you have love for Him and his most beloved creation, 'human beings' you are in his religion. Love every person, ensure every person is helped to be useful to another person, you will discover the true religion of God - LOVE.

God is above all religions. Religion is the vehicle by which we come to understand God. Your Christian friend is correct, within the context of the Holy Scriptures of the Bible. Taking that a step further, the Trinitarian God, God as the Son, i.e. Jesus Christ, was in fact baptized, in the River Jordan, by John the Baptist.
If you ask a Jew, he or she would tell you that God is not a Christian. Similarly, Allah is God of the Islamic faith. All three religions trace their roots back to Abraham.
As far as Hindu is concerned, I believe the deity is Vishna. If we look at ALL religions, there is more in common among them than not. The underlying commonality, from my perspective, is the Spirit of God.

The question doesn't make sense to a Christian at least.
Jesus was God revealed on earth as a man. Religion is a silly institution that humans have created full of rituals etc. God does not follow any religion - he is the creator from whom all things flow. He does not need salvation. Humans need salvation, and they get it by asking God for forgiveness, acknowledging that He is the creator, and following Jesus who died for our sins - that's it. You don't need smells and bells or 'religion'.
But it just doesn't make sense to ask whether God is of any religion. The most you can say is who is God? - the Christian God, the Hindu God, the Muslim God etc.

God follows every religion. All living things are made of the energy of God. So as I am God and claim no religion and some other pieces of God claim Christianity, Islam, Hindu, and so on. God is as diverse as all life. God didn't write the bible. God didn't invent any religion but he listens and learns from all of them. People close down the expansion of God to fit into their little lives while that energy is so vast the human mind is unable to truly comprehend.

First off, religion is man-made. While the Christian faith has been categorized as a religion it is truly spirituality and faith based on the Great Book that was to be the Truth and Light of the world. Yes, God was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. Of course then He was in the form of man, as Jesus Christ. Religions separate people, but there is only one Book of Truth. And It says there is only ONE God. It's only whether or not you choose to have faith in it. Freedom of free will. Another given gift from God, it's up to you what you will pay for after this life.

God is eternal, Jesus is God. God does not worship Himself, so no, God is not Christian. Christians worship God and follow Christ.
However, Jesus, God on earth was baptized by John the Baptist in water, He did attend a church, He went to the Jewish Synagogues where He taught and spoke out against the several traditions and laws that we not of God.
Christianity is NOT about baptism, or going to church - those are just things.

Backed by Christians, In reality God does not have a religion, but when he became in the flesh and walk amount us as it was predicted by John (John 1:1-5 and John 1:14) Yes you could say that He is a Cristian for He was the Crist, He was baptized in the Jordan river, and it was not a church were he began his ministry but a Synagogue, in the beginning there was not churches, I hope you find what you are looking for. If you seek God with all your heart and all your might you will find him, good look, hope to see you in heaven. God bless.

If you believe in God, then know this. God is Christian, Moslem, Jew, Hindu, or whenever the faithful feel his presence. Your friend knows nothing! God's truth is universal. He wears no uniform, he prays in no Church. He is the father of all that is good, and the enemy of all that is evil. He can be seen in all the stars of the night time sky, or a newborn baby's cry. God is all things, and he dwells within us all, regardless of country, religion, politics, race, or color. If you know right from wrong, you know the heart of God. Tell your friend to search his own heart and see if this is not true.

Hinduism is older than Christianity so I think God must be Hindu...
No, actually God must have practiced animism and some voodoo because that is even older than Hinduism, so...God is Pagan.
but...
The Gods don't belong to a certain organisation or movement. Religion is just a human created structure to practice spirituality. Some people worship the structure rather than the Gods.

God is is the creator of all religions so God is a Christian AND a Muslim AND ......
You cant picture God as a person so the questions you ask about where he is baptized and in what church he is converted is wrong.

God can't be under something He created much more what man created. God is beyond human bounds. There's really nothing to back on your friend's answer because he was asking except his comment that God is not hindu which I agree. Jesus was baptised by John in the new testament and he didn't went to any church when He walked on earth.
