If you take the word Christian out of there and just put in the word people, it gives a new spin to the question, don't it? There are some Christians who aren't kind because they're people. There are some people who are kind because they're Christians. The word Christian means "Christ-like." Therefore, we should all strive to be like Christ, but as we are human and not God, sometimes we fail. Ain't it great that Jesus shed His blood so that we could be forgiven? Jesus paid a debt He didn't owe so we could have eternal life.

Because when Jesus was asked by the apostles what was the greatest thing they could do for Him, He said "I would that you love one another".
And 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says: Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride; Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil; It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true; Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things. Though the prophet's word may come to an end, tongues come to nothing, and knowledge have no more value, love has no end.
So please don't think that all Christians are cruel and unkind as previous answerer's have posted; most of us live according to the above verses.

I agree with "arewethereyet". Although you have to keep in mind, Christians are just people. They're no better or worse than non-Christians and they are fallible. They're not always nice (let's get past this crusade thing though) they just try to show God's love and mercy to others, regardless of religion.

Christians are kind because they are threatened with the thought that if they aren't they will go to hell! and in my experience christians aint always too nice

Some "NICE" people are "Well" mannered, "KIND" and tell the truth. They are as close to being God's people as you will normally see without their actually being God's people.
Then there are the nasty ones denying God, his works, and the bible.

Probably because your bible says kind things like:
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB
A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB) or
You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB

and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud.
