Its a case of get them before they get you isn't it? don't you think? What I mean is any race that has the technical superiority to get to us first would without any doubt be far more advanced so we would probably become extincted or con corded. Any beings that would travel 100s of 1000s of light years to our little planet would want to own it and we wont be able to do a thing about it.

I have no opinion on the alien-invasion part; but the world - unites - to - drive - off - invaders part seems highly unlikely to me.
