The same age as me, I bet that most days you feel 80 - 90. The best place to get advise (apart from yr g.p) is www.arc.org.uk / 0870 850 5000. Arthritis Research Campaign. They produce loads of free information booklets covering all different types of Arthritis.
Lots of rest is advised when pain is bad, anti inflamatories, ice packs, heat pads. Gentle swimming is supposed to help.
If you are not already under the hospital ask your g.p for a refferal as they have so many aids to help you & you can learn to spot the warning signs of a flare-up.
Hope that helps
Jo

Arthritis is an awful pain to deal with and first may i say weed no. The side effects will cause you so much more problems on top and your still suffer with arthritis. You don't say where the joint pain is but, naturals oils at least three times a day massarge into the area to loosen up the muscles, also go to your natural store there is a care and i cant be sure of the name but it is something like dog tail. I know we rid but go and ask you may laugh i did but a friend i went to get it for swore by it. Rub that into your joint area, also it may help to swim and this takes your wait and you can exercise your body as you know its important to keep the area mobile as much as you can. Also if you have not had any pain relief if it is not working please go back to your doctor as he should review the medication every now again again, also reviewing your situation to see if you may need theraphy. so please try everything that you can but i know that weed will not help it will be the curse and i know what that will do to you. Good luck take care.

Weed helps for a minute. I was 32 when i was dx with Rheumatoid Arthritis, 34 for the FibroMyalgia. Smoking pot doesn't treat the disease, it treats the symptoms, very short-term though. See a doctor for a referral to a Rheumatologist. Learning hospitals are the cheapest way to go. Check out your state's University's medical science departments. Worked for me.

Last year, I was introduced to an AMAZING all natural wellness system by a very close friend of mine. I am 43 years old, and I have been taking blood pressure meds for 6 years. Since I have been using the product, I am becoming healthier every day! I no longer need to take blood pressure medication, and my 18 year stretch of chronic low back and hip pain is completely gone thanks to this amazing product.

try tractioning the joint (gapping the joint) so that synovial fluid has greater opportunity to enter the joint (and also to relieve you from the compression between the two opposing surfaces). Visit an osteopath who will also be able to review your lifestyle and posture for contributory and exacerbating factors. The osteopath will also be able to articulate your joint so that the fluid is better distributed over the joint surfaces.

This may sound strange but my father used to carry a chestnut in his pocket. I swear, it's true!
A friend takes cod liver oil to lubricate his hip that is arthritic.

WEED??? you mean marijuana? of course not. SHEEESH!!! Refrain from eating beans (all kinds of beans, and by the way, gravy comes from beans). Refrain from eating internal organs of animals. Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday (preferably distilled/boiled water and not mineral water)
