Arianism was one of the early heresies of the church. The way I understand it, there was a great debate in the early church about both Christ's humanity and his divinity. The orthodox view that developed out of these disagreements was a balanced view that stated both the humanity and the divinity of Christ without emphasizing one too much at the expense of the other. Arius, whom you referenced in your question (couldn't follow the link), was probably the most notable proponent of a Christology that denied the divinity of Christ. The Council of Nicaea in 325 addressed the controversy; the council resoundingly declared Arius's view heretical and adopted a creed still spoken today in many Christian churches that very clearly refers to the disagreement ("begotten, not made, one in being with the Father").

Ok heres the answer to this stupid dr and his ridculous claims....If John was mistranslated which by the way it isnt it would not explain the prophesies in the old testament...or the rest of the new testament of the diety of Jesus Christ this man is obviously wrong. We have the old testament as passed down from the Jewish religion ...it prophisies the coming of the Mesiah Immanuel ..the best i can tell this quack wishes to rewrite the entire word of God..which would not only change the docrines of christians but also jews and perhaps Muslims its ridiculous what biblical schloars agree with him?

Read your own literature it states in reference to John 3:16 & John 1:8 as "unique a single kind" Pointing to the fact that Jesus himself was different in His relationship to God then anyother.
They also state to think other wise was considered a heresy.
Correctly translated the Only begotten of the father.
You have proven Jesus alone is the Son of God.

As judged by the previous answers I would like to say to you "how dare you try to bring some logic and intelligent research study into this issue" If you continue to do this then you may end up having a realistic true picture of the events of history that make up our modern day world and beliefs. That is unacceptable. You are not supposed to be using your mind like this instead you should simply choose to believe whatever is told you by the christian right. This open mindeness and reasonable compromise is exactly the type of "evil" that brings about things like the tsuamami because god knows your doing this and he is going to punish several impoverished nations in the Indonesia region until you stop.

Not sure I understand your question there, friend. Are you refuting or supporting that Jesus was the Son of God? Either way, what you think and what man has done has never and will never negate the shedding of Christ's blood on the cross. Jesus was a gift; His blood brought salvation and redemption. Deal with it, accept it. Move on...

Hi,
Since I haven't seen the source, i will comment on what I believe. But wouldn't begotten have to do with the birth? The Bible says Jesus was born. I believe this is also stated in some old Jewish history books.

To me, it's just another human claims that tries to nullify Jesus's divinity. The concept of the saving grace doesn't change and it will always points to Jesus as Son of God and God. He died for our sins and He's the only one worthy of that because He is God. God can't die thats why He came to earth and took on human flesh to die. I don't care if people with so called intellectual high standings will make claims, if they are smart enough, they would have understand even the simple story of the Gospel but why is it so complicated to them? Anyone can make claims and anyone can doubt it.

The devil's work no doubt. They were not there. Mary and the Angel were. The people where Mary lived were there. People writing their doubts centuries later could only speculate.
Doubt God and pay for it in the resurrection.

To me, the most important of these is the doctrine that brought me peace with God: Salvation IS a GIFT of God's grace, received by faith & trust in God's promise to forgive sins for the sake of Christ's death on the cross.
Simply... but that's the way it is !

I believe that God has no sons ,and that Jesus is a human being (a prophet).
If I want to prove it I will write a book here, but I've reached the same conclusion as you.
thank you ,and God bless..
