So, if Manson, or that strange guy that killed lots of people in the name of aliens, or even WACO took place MANY MANY thousands of years ago. And people were around to listen and write down what they had to say. Would our "religions" be that much different? Would you believe the bible if written by a "crazy man", who thought he could do no wrong and had many "followers"??????? If this question offends u, all the more reason to answer, I am honestly curious about the answers, please do not delete me..........

What if you did? What if you lied? What if I avenge? What if eye for an eye?

Okay - I do not proclaim to "know" the bible well but went to church many years and do believe in God/Jesus. I would find it hard to believe - I mean Jesus walked on water - David Koresh (sp?) - WACO didn't do that and he did NOT protect the people he was "helping" - he hurt them. They were a bunch of paranoid people - paranoia and faith are two different things. Manson actually did not do his killings - he had "followers" to do those killings and if you remember, they were very young people who were naive/easily persuaded - brainwashed. He didn't have hundreds of followers. I don't know - I mean, it is something to think about - HOWEVER, there was no GOOD in any of it. I have a feeling you will get some good answers that I am going to be interested in reading. I doubt you will be deleted - I think it is a good question.

The bible was written by a commity that debated for a long time, thou the words have changed so our generation can understand it, it is still the bible and carries the same message.

I do not believe that christianity would be any different, but perhaps some people would change or act different.

Everyone has different believes, I have even sat in on some very serious christian debates, and to see two groups that 'devout' argue and strive as hard as they did, it was amazing.

The Bible was not written by one man in about a year or so. It was written by many different people over a period of thousands of years. It's just been put together, most popularly by the Scottish king James. The Bible is the inerrant, inspired word of an omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent God. He doesn't force or coerce us to believe but gives us free will to choose for ourselves. The Bible does not contradict itself. It is infallible. Have you ever read it?

There have been many books written in the past thousands of years, but none have stood the test like the Holy Bible.

Today's religions seem to be written by the crazy mans followers who seem to have been absent at the said events and therefore can't agree what happened. Then continually edited through the ages.
I can't see why they would delete you.

THERE HAVE BEEN MANY BOOKS WRITTEN OVER TIME THAT ARE LIKE YOU DESCRIBED. MOST PEOPLE SEE THE BIBLE AS ONE BOOK, BUT IN FACT IT IS 66 BOOKS. AND ALL 66 BOOKS UPHOLD EACH OTHER. IN THE OLD TESTIMENT THERE OVER 100 PROPHESIES OF THE MESSAIAH AND JESUS FULFILLED ALL OF THEM. THIS IS WHAT STANDS THE TEST OF TIME AND I RATHER BELIEVE THIS THAN HAVE FAITH IN ANYTHING ELSE.
