My workload over the years sometimes kept me on the go for most of the day and evening and during the years of being pregnant and while I was rearing them I had aching legs 24/7. They ached when I went to bed so much and then still ached when I got up and that would slowly progress through the day.
It's only since my kids growing up, and me learning to switch off and give my legs a rest that the pain slowly went. I had this pain for about 7 years, and it took months to slowly go.
It's obviously telling me I pushed myself too much, expected too much from myself even though I had seven kids, I kept things up as if only had one and didn't believe in my kids helping (backfired bigtime, lazy sods they are). It was time for me to slow down.
We have to care for our body for our body to do care for us. Pamper yourself and put your feet up when ever you can. If your feet swell a nice hot foot bath or massage will help. Treat yourself and your body to little naps if you can to help boost you.

My best friend said this, and I'll always use this quote now as so true:
You keep on getting what you're getting 'cause you keep on doing what you're doing

Go get yourself some GREAT shoes. It may seem pricy, buy it's going to make all the difference in the world. I highly recommend SAS.

I used to decorate cakes professionally. Spent most the day standing in one spot on hard tile. The front of my legs - right up the bone - would ache like I had just ran a marathon on cement! I started noticing the pain was especially bad on days I wore my leather Keds to work. That's when I went and bought some well cushioned shoes.

Good Luck!

The concrete floor probably is. Yes, your shoes will help to a point. But the impact on the solid floor could definitely be causing an issue. I'd consult your doctor. At the very least go to a shoe store that specializes in orthopedic type shoes. They can tell you exactly what you need for these conditions.

Good luck! And I so hope it gets better!!

Shoes will be your problem, but even with the best shoes if your work has you standing, at some point your legs would be aching!

You answered your own question in your details. your standing up for 6-7 hours, and are in the kitchen. Shoes might be part of the problem. get some of the gel insoles.

If I stood up for 6-7 hours straight, my legs would definitely hurt too.

Check if you're a diabetic. Sometimes, problems with sugar levels in the blood sometimes tend to reflect in the legs and feet.
Good luck. And by the way, what's for lunch today?

The old axiom "the right tool for the right job" applies to shoes as well.

You need well fitting, comfortable shoes with a well cushioned insole. A thick cushioned floor mat will help tremendously. Its also a good idea to move about once in a while.

I worked on my feet for eight years. With the right shoes and floor mat, my legs rarely bothered me.

Good luck.
