Dr. Phil is an idiot that speaks without thinking...for him clinical therapy is a one size fits all standard.

People without children have great advice for those that are struggling because there's no big picture for them to grasp.

Bring the baby over for a barbecue for childless couple means grab the kid and a 6 pack of beer and come on over.

For the couple with a baby it means packing a diaper bag, car seat, stroller, pacifier, extra formula, toys, soft cloth to snuggle with, a throw blanket to lay on....driving by the store for beer that probably costs as much as the next can of formula so you're like...man...should we really do this when we need more formula...then the ...back aches, crying baby, switch offs, more backache, more crying baby, more switch offs at the right time so partner gets stuck with diaper change, feeding, burping, sober parent drives home, fussing, bed time prep, sober parent crying, drunk parent burping...

big picture is worth a thousand words isn't it....

I disagree with myt. Unless you have been a parent you have no right giving advice. Being a parent is way too complex, rewarding, etc. for someone who has never experienced it to understand. That would be like an outsider with no medical knowledge giving advice to a brain surgeon.
When I am apporached by someone....................I say, "Just wait. Once you experience the joys of parenting you will know what real love is. Until then, you just can't relate with the rest of us."

Because it's easy for them to observe for a minute or a day and suddenly they feel they are qualified to give advice. They fail to realize that parenting is a full time job, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and it's exhausting.

Dr. phil has kids because people with no kids learn from the people with kids you are too busy on kids than learning about them.

because they are able to sit and observe what people with kids do . an observant person can see the situation better because, they can see the whole picture, they are not in the mist of the situation, therefore their mind isn,t overwhelmed and they can think clearly.

Because they have not gone through the situation and they don't know how it is to have a child and run behind them all the time.

I often ask myself that. I would say to my sister "why don't you do this and that" but I fail to realize I have no on hand experiences to even tell her what to do. I just think that if that was my child I would do this or that.
