I am a Londoner born and bred and I am not partcularly arrogant (except when it comes to my chosen football team). I think Londoners are pretty insular but that is because we live in a massive, impersonal city where everyone is busy with their own lives. People are arrogant all over the country, it's the people not the area they live in.

Well how on earth would you have the gall to ask such a silly question, coming as you do from the land of a thousand chimneys or whatever....actually I don't think this, but I don't believe that all Londoners or even the majority are arrogant either..

I think it's the same in any city, people try to keep themselves to themselves because you really just don't know who is going to mug you or stab you next. That's pretty much a big part of it. The climate in the city is getting more and more paranoid. I've always found people who come to work in the city from other countries to be far more friendly than indigenous Londoners.

Its kind of ironic that in the most densely populated city in the UK it's the easiest to be alone

Very much so. They will only talk to you if you are filthy rich and on the scene, they can't get you in their mouths quick enough if you are rich. (men & women) Anyone poor and unfashionable is a social outcast. It is a dreadful s***hole populated by dreadful s***ty people. Avoid it like the plague. It was not called "The Great Wen" (toilet) in days gone by for nothing.
