Excorcism is a subject that is quite ignored in the Western culture, but honestly it is real and happens every where else in the world. After watching movies like "The Exorcist" and "Exorcism of Emily rose" I have grew to wonder why people in the west find it hard to digest the idea of being possesed?

I go to a church where they cast out demons. It's called a "deliverance ministry". Just last week, there was a woman there, who had about 12 different demons expelled from her. I think maybe people have been desensitized to the reality of demonic spirits by all the horror movies they've seen over the years. They've come to believe that they're just a part of sensationalized fiction, rather then reality. But in fact, there are probably thousands of people in America right now, that are possessed by evil spirits, and they don't even know it. They've opened the doorway to darkness by getting involved in occult practices, such as witchcraft and satanism. T.V. Shows like "Charmed", have made witchcraft look like harmless fun, when in fact, it is a very dangerous practice. It's all a part of Satan's plan to destroy the minds of our youth, and send them to hell. That's because the Devil is already doomed to spend an eternity there, and he wants to take as many young people along with him as he possibly can.

"I'm american, and i believe in exorcism, nuff said." Yes Indeed, rofl.

Demons used to be responsible for illness as well, but I would hardly say using an antibiotic is an exorcism.

There has never been independantly verified evidence that possession by spirits exists. This is utter nonsense. It is either known biologal/physcological causes or just an outright fraud.

Therefore I will not believe it till I here it can be evidenced and agreed upon by people from all walks of life, believers and previously non-believers alike.

I personally have never seen or read about anything that would convince me of such happenings.

Movies are movies and are not reality, sorry. Even so called 'factual' movies aren't all that factual, and since none of the production crew actually saw it they always take from anecdotal stories - hardly a way to make an accurate picture. What great effects they can do nowadays tho, maybe they just want to sell the film?

As a Christian who believe Christ delivered many from possession, I don't have a problem with it. I think for many it's the idea that you have to go through all this rigaramo and they always seem to forget to tell you in the movies that if you don't replace what's been taken away, then the one removed and seven even more evil will come and take it's place - according to scripture. So, I think as many things of the West, we don't accept the scriptures as truly being of Christ and for those few who do, we are deemed cracked! But I don't mind being a cracked vessel for Christ - he was a beaten bloody mess for people like me, not the righteous who didn't need him.

i don't know but they should demonic possession is mentioned alot in the new testament, lots of eg's of Jesus driving out demons, and in the last days demonic possession will increase, but i guess that its put down to mental illness ect, by psychiatrists and the like but playing with the occult can open the door to demonic possession, depression ect.

Who says we don't believe in it?
Because it is such an "if-fy" subject, it is usually not talked about in the public hearing.
