Recent studies of overweight children have suggested over 90% of overweight and obese children under the age of 15 have no genetic propensity causing them to be overweight. Similarly, parents of these children often allow them to eat whatever they want. Considering that individuals who are overweight are much more likely to be overweight as adults and suffer significantly more health problems are these parent hurting their children. Are they bad parents.

Yes, in the majority of cases!

Your'e research shows that 90% of these Kids should Not be Overweight!

The Parents can obviously see the Physical Condition of their Child/Children....Either they choose to ignore it, Don't realize that There Is a Problem, or Aren't Sure What-to-Do!?

If the Parents just let Life-go-on...without trying to reverse the trend...I'd say they are not exercising good parental skills...Perhaps not Evil Parents...but definitely showing Bad Judgment!

( They are not Good Parents for sure! )

If some has children that are overweight doesn't mean that they're bad parents. It could have been genetics to begin with. If not, then they simply don't know what's right for their children. If that is the case, then parents just need education on nutrition for their children. Most parents are feeding their children what they eat or like and see nothing wrong with doing so.

I believe that it is the job of a parent to teach their children healthy eating habits. Who do you blame if you have a ten year old that is overweight not because of a medical reason but because of their diet, certainly not the ten year old. Parents need to control the servings of their childrens meals, encourage healthy snacking between meals, so that they don't feel that they need large servings, or seconds. Its just not fair what these kids will go through as they get older and become adults. How much harder will it be for them to lose weight. If your child is overweight please don't just say, its puppy fat, they'll lose it when they get older, they won't.

Of course not.

They love their children so much so that they don't realize that they are letting them for being that bad by giving them as much food as possible they want. They needs information about that.
Bad parents are the ones who let their children in hunger while they have enough money to buy enough food for them.

only in a few cases...kids can get junk to eat anyplace..heck, even school cafeteria's have soda machines, and the lunches are full of grease!! remember the pizza the serve? they can get it at friend's homes...heck even grandma and grandpa may give them stuff like candy they don't need...it's always easy to blame the parents..and it's not always accurate.
