Valium or Diazapam (the generic name) is only available on prescription in the UK. You can't buy it on the Internet. You may be able to buy it from an overseas site. It is very addictive - so be careful. It is a long lasting tranquilliser, so it stays in your system for a while. If you have to take a tranquilliser Diazapam is reasonably safe and you don't usually get withdrawal between doses. It's relatively easy to give up if you become addicted too. If you are suffering clinical anxiety that is severely interfering with your life. Then see a doctor and ask for it to be prescribed. Take it when only necessary. If you have to take it continually. Then take it for as short of a period as possible. If you have problems stopping taking it. Check to see if you have dealt with the problems that made you anxious in the first place. If it is just addiction and you're not using it to cope with continual stress - then come off it slowly - reducing your dosage every week. You should get off 6 mg a day easily. Higher doses are harder to withdraw from. Some people take up to 30 mg a day - but that is a very high dose. It is also given in massive doses as a premed before surgery. So high doses are considered safe - but don't drive or use machinery after taking a high dose.

dear mary if you need valium that bad you are only kidding yourself you reallly dont want your gp to know or you would ask for a prescription wouldnt you

What happens if I miss a dose?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
