Take night classes at your local University/College, do some research at the library, do some research at fairly reliable websites like http://en.wikipedia.org . And watch your local listings for related tv shows on PBS (if you're in the U.S.), The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, The History Channel, and so on.

If you can afford it, the best way is to go on expeditions with the scientists. You can find many volunteer organizations through a google search that will help you. Other than that, there are courses in archaelogy at most major universities. Good luck to you.

It depends how in depth you want to get it into it...I know of basic night courses you can take and Im sure there are some intermediate university courses if you are so inclined

You can learn it online. There are a few sites where you can learn the basics in archaeology.
