Uck, no liver either. I just can't see myself eating another creature's poison filter.

Sources of iron include

animal livers
animal kidneys
red meat ----> you could try this one instead of the above 2
egg yolk
bread
green vegetables


However, don't go on a eating spree, because the body only requires 1 to 2 milligrams of iron each day. Excess iron consumed all at once causes vomiting, diarrhea, and damage to the intestine. Excess iron consumed over a period of time may damage coronary arteries.

The iron found in animal products are absorbed more efficiently than those found in other products (e.g. most foods and iron supplements)

However, if you happen to consume lots of vegetables, to take animal protein (eggs, fish) and/or vitamin C with it.

One can get iron from many natural sources like red meat, and nuts (Cashews are the best of the nuts). Also, eat more foods with Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps the absorbsion of iron into the bloodsteam. Vegetables, beans, whole grains, spinach, and dried fruits (like raisins) are also very high in iron. Also there are many cereals which are fortified with iron (iron added to them). This can be determined by looking on thje side of thae box at the nutrition face. It will say percent daily value. Go for the highest one. You should also avoid drinking tea with your meals that are high in iron. Tea contains tannin that could inhibit the absorption of iron.

you can literally eat food cooked in iron vessel. you can get iron through beef & spinach the most.
