My husband and I relocated to Fribourg, Switzerland almost two months ago. I'm trying to learn French and am booked on an intensive summer course to start soon, but it would be nice to meet people who can speak my own language and/or who could help me with my French. We're in our early 30s and don't have kids.

Acutally it should be quite easy to get in touch with Swiss speaking a reasonable amount of English.

There is a university in Fribourg - perhaps they have some kind of contact network?

I know, that the Junior Chamber has a group in Fribourg - they surely would welcome you to join. Most members would speak English - and some training courses are even held in English.

Is that near Lausanne?
I don't think there are any natively english speaking clubs, but I know that many of the people there speak and understand a decent amount of English.
