Go to Lake Monroe if you want to meet cool people who like to have a good time. It's very close to IU.

In South Central Indiana there is a large lake called Patoka Lake. My family and I LOVE going to a place called WHITE OAKS CABINS. They are log cabins you can rent rather cheaply in the middle of nowhere and within a short drive to lake adventures. It is not far from French Lick and the old West Baden Springs Hotel. There are beaches to swim at Patoka and you can rent jet skis, jet boats, etc there. There are places to rent horses in the area also.

Turkey State Run Park near Rockville, IN is fantastic! It has some of the best trails ranging from easy to difficult. It has a pool if your not adventurous enough to go swimming in the river, tennis courts, basketball courts and you can rent bikes and horses. It's a state park, so its not really expensive. You can go canoeing and tubing.

Its really well known for canoe trips. I was in FL a couple of years ago and our tour guide wanted to know if we ever heard of the park because she was coming up to IN to go canoeing.

I recommend visiting the canyon there..its a beautiful sight!
