Bringing families together is not as easy as it sounds! sometimes the hardest thing for families with teens or adult children is to share a meal together. It may take a formal invitation, but so what? Let everyone know that the family will be sharing a giant pizza on Friday night or whenever. Or, consider an afternoon where the family shares a giant sub sandwich. These meals seem to bring young and old on the same playing field and are more fun than traditional meals.
Now that you are together, you can try add an activity for afterward. Without telling them in advance, plan a short family activity for afterward such as: go-karting, mini-golf, or laser tag. These are activities that you might not share often, but are active and youthful enough to keep the youngest members interested. Get everyone's involvement from the start and you will see a big difference in the relationships that very day!
Don't turn this plan down without trying it first, these 3 ideas are wild and crazy enough for any family.

Try to schedule on routine basis a Family night or day. make it the same day every week. Maybe have a game night, go to movie or just sit down at the table and discuss anything the family wants to talk abaout. Make sure the television is off and that there are no distractions. If you pray then say a prayer before you do so you can feel that the spirit of God is present. But what ever you do just spend time together, good time, fun time. If you need help in planning one of these nights go to LDS.org and look under family or provendential living (spelling)

it could be cuz u think ur too hot...No I am jokin
How about packin a picnic luch and goin to the park. Take a football or a game. Depending on the age of your brother and health of your mother check out local amusement parks. Or even local bowling alleys. There's plenty of things to do that doesn't have to cost a lot of money. Try camping that is an awesome way to spend time around a camp fire at nite and enjoying the time with family.

I know this may sound Corny but we have family nights every wed. (or every other depending) We pick someone to start that that person decides what we do together that night. We can go out to eat or I'll cook something special at home. We can play a game, watch tv, a movie........ Then the next time someone else gets to pick. Its very informative on things your kids are into, good for gift ideas around b-days and christmas.

At our house we used to make special holidays just for the funo f it once a month. Snow day.........go sledding

Take one night a week and make it a family game night or movie night. Go for walks or bike rides together. Take turns choosing the activity, that way everyone gets to do something they like.

You are probably the best person to know what your family will like or will not like to do.
However, from what you say it seems the rest of your family are not really interested in the family unit.
It may be you will have to accept this about your family....Tough thing to accept but it may be the way it is.
Don't worry, as you have, with your own life, a chance to rectifty that with your own family when you make one...
