My hair is just about midway down my back. However, I bore easily and want a dramatic change in my hairstyle?

Would it be better if I dye it a funky color or get some crazy long extensions even though I am just over 5 feet tall??

Shave it off. Change doesn't get any more dramatic than that!

What I'm going to describe is not an entirely dramatic change, but one that will get you noticed.

On the TV show Andromeda, Actress Lexa Doig during the later seasons of the series (which has ended), had a wide bright red highlight running down the sides of her hair. And I thought she looked so cool with those highlights. I just loved it. Anyway, I've found some pictures and the links are below, but unfortunately the pictures I found just don't do it justice. But at least you can get the idea.

The nice part about the highlights like that is that you could do a dye job, or (and I'm guessing here, but I'd be willing to bet real money on it) that somewhere in N.Y. or LA there has to be a hair/wig salon that would have this as a ready made extension.as well.

Whether your a brunette, blonde, or redhead this little trick would work quite nicely in my opinion, and definitely get you noticed. Yet still remain tasteful and not look insane. The best of all worlds..

You have a lot of options. Some being more reasonable than others. If you get extensions, you'll look shorter. I'd say go to your salon and ask for long layers, maybe some dramatic highlights. Or, you could be brave and tell them to do what ever they want (which I've done before and loved the turn out). If you do do this make sure that you ask about management, you don't want something that you won't be able to do in time in the morning. What ever you decide I hope you love it =)

I am a senior hair stylist,so my advice is,find a good salon.Someone you feel relaxed with.Go in for a consolation,they will discuss what will suit your face shape.The important factor,what people forget is-your life style.Do not let them cut something-you cannot manage at home,will you have time in the morning?Will there be any heated applliances needed?All these questions ask them.You are not sure enough for a dramatic change,if not you would not be asking.So I always say,for those who have long hair-do it gradually.If not you could be crying!Long hair is sometimes a security blanket for females.Put some high/low lights in,that will get you used to having colour in the hair,the more you do,you will get the courage to do that "drastic style" you want.Hope this helps.

I say don't cut it short has its limitations if you get bored with it there isn't to much to do. However if you color your hair you are giving yourself an different look ( pick something crazy) with the options of styling it differently every time.

Go for the funky color, but get rid of the length. No more than two inches; spike it up.

better shave two to three strips of hair off it will look funky and then dye ur hair in diff colors

Have you ever thought about a wigs? I think that would be cool! You could change your style everyday. There are some really good artists out there that can do some freaky sh*t with a wig!

i have hair that reaches my waist, when i get bored with it, i wear it a different way- i french braid it, wear it partially up in a barrette, wear it down, wear it in a bun, wear it in a ponytail, with hair that is longer (halfway down your back to waist length- there is more you can do with it than with short hair) so even if you get bored with it- don't cut it off. you could dye it another color, braid it, do other things with hairstyle, but i wouldn't cut it.

Your hair is already long so why get extentions? And your short, so it would look overwhelming. Color it...or cut it.
