Spend a bit of time out in the sunshine. It will dry the skin, and lessen the oils. Also, keep face clean, and use Hydrogen Peroxide after, on a bit of cotton and pat on face. Heals infection in the acne, and helps to dry it up.

Don't touch face except for to clean. Make sure you don't get hair care products on face. Hair sprays and gels can clog pores. Conditioners can get in pores and harden.

Tie up bangs in hot weather. The bangs left down can make you sweat more, and presses sebum mixed with sweat into your pores. Ever notice you have more acne near your forehead? Sounds crazy but give it a try.

Keeping face clean, helps your pores out alot. Dirt gets trapped in the pores, that mixes with the sebum, hardens and causes the blackheads. Clean face as soon as you notice it is getting oily.

Drink 8 or more glasses water daily, helps the skin flush out wastes, and gives your skin a nice glow.

Oh if only it could be so simple...in reality bad acne will get no effect from soaps and so on. You need to see your GP and a dermatologist. Firstly, the GP will probably try you on some antibiotics (which won't work, talking from experience). Then you can see a dermatologist. They may put you on roacataine which is a bit of a drama because you can't expose your skin to sunlight (so winter is the best time to go on it) and you need to be on 1-2 courses of this which takes about 6 mths all up and then hopefully you are cured for life, if not for a very long time. The other option is a contraceptive pill which here in Aussie is known as Diane 35. It's fairly pricey, much more expensive than most contraceptive pills (costs me around $60 for 3 months) (there is a brand substitute that is the same product for a bit cheaper however so ask your dr). Even though you may not want contraception or need contraception, this works so well. I was put on other less effective contraceptive pills first which were also designed to help bad skin. They didn't work. I had severe acne. Diane worked immediately and my awful skin was near perfect in 3 months! Amazing because you should have seen how bad mine was. Both products have their positives and negatives. I've just realised I am assuming Im talking to a girl but I really don't know. If you are a boy you will just have the roacataine, obviously, not the contraceptive pill (lol). Generally severe acne as opposed to the odd pimple is a hormone problem that won't just go away with age or soap and is often nothing to do with diet either. I come from a family of acne suffers, neither of my parents had it but both my bros had it severe and because I could go on the pill I had the best results. Diane 35 is most effective for acne or for excessive hair growth in places you don't want hair!

Do not allow doctors to fob you off because living with acne sux!

Good luck!

I know yr question says quick , but acne takes time ! i have acne right now. & i tried everything! it wouldn't go away. i just recently went to the dermatologist last may & he put me on some topical cream. it worked okay i guess. i go back every 2-3 months. & everytime that i've gone , he boosts up the strength of the acne cream. i'm also taking pills for it. from a scale 1-10 , my acne is probably a 3 or a 4. but i'm very self conscious. over the years DR's have found out that acne is consider a medical condition , even when it's mild. so honestly hun, i think you should just try to get to the dermatologist. if yr a teenager , i know exactly how you feel! i'm not even 15 yet , & i already go to the derm. but hey , just wash yr face w/ a mild wash every night. pat dry yr face. don't scrub! & don't pick at yr zits..they'll leave scars if you do. hm , well i hope i helped! good luck!

if you over wash your face you can break out. TAlk to a dermatologist. they know what's best for you. Don't stress so much also. when i used to go back to school i used to break out more. It's weird. Also change your diet. But yea.. .the best advice I can give you is to just see a dermatologist. good luck. i know it can be stressful. But i know some people that have had really bad acne and its' all gone now. there is a solution to everything now in days! : ) cut back on the fast food also.
