My roomate smokes (Marlboro) and it makes the house and my clothes wreak. It's really embarrising. She's trying to quit and she bought an air purifier and uses candles and stuff but it's not working. I can take my clothes out and wear them straight out of the drier but they still have the smell. I'll be in this house with her for the next couple of years and I really need some kind of advice. please?

Check to see if the Drier smells, if it does, maybe th smell is coming from the drier.

Put cologne and deoderant on the clothes and put moth balls in the closet or whereever u store ure clothes.

Making ure friend smoke outside the room will also help.

Febreeze takes the smell out of anything, no joke. Some clod I used to work with spilled fixer (a photographic chemical) in my shoes and Febreeze was the only thing that got rid of the smell. Also, make your friend smoke outside. You shouldn't have to put up with that crap, you live there, too.

you should ask your roommate to only smoke out side. not only is the smell going into your clothes but you are both breathing the second hand smoke. second hand smoke is worse then smoking. the smell will come out after several washes, just use a strong detergent.

Try to tell her in a nice way that if she should continue to smoke
that you are thinking of getting a different room mate because of your health issues that she has brought to you attention.
Because you do know that Second hand smoke also Kills..

You've got 2 choices. Get used to it or get a non smoking room mate.
I smoke and I know.

I've also done the smoking outside for someone else thing...it results in bitter feelings.

try just a drop or two of pine-sol in the washing machine. I don't know for sure that it helps with smoke but it helps with the diesel fuel smell that i had to deal with with my husband many years ago. maybe it will help you. good luck.

Make her smoke outside. If she won't, make sure she opens windows, or smoke near Stove vent/fan that will suck up the smoke.

Use febreeze on your clothing.
