"Dis-moi que tu m'aimes, brisons les chaines,
sans mentir car mon coeur résiste encore!"
It's from a song by Kate Ryan that I love, and I know what the words mean individually, but I do not know if it means "my heart resists again" or "my heart still resists." Either way, it doesn't make much sense, and I am wondering if there is a lesser-known, less-obvious translation for 'résister.'

"Tell me that you love me,
Let's break the chains,
No telling lies,
For my heart's still hanging on."
Have you seen these words written down? Brisant and brisons are pronounced exactly the same, that is why I am wondering. "brisant les chaines", would be "breaking the chains".
It sounds like a pretty song.

"Encore" can mean "still," "again," or "more". In this case, I'd say it means "still".
"Résister" means simply what you'd think: "to resist". That is, this person is saying that she/he needs to hear that the other person loves her/him in order to be convinced of it, because her/his heart doesn't believe it.
Hence, the following literal translation:
Tell me that you love me let us break the chains,
without lying because my heart still resists.
Here are a couple of more lyrical approximate translations I wrote that capture the spirit if not the exact meaning of the poem:
Tell me that you love me! Let us break these chains!
No more lying, 'cause my heart cannot endure these pains!
Tell me, without lying, that you love me, soul and heart.
Let's break these chains that bind our love and keep us both apart!

Tell me that you love me, let's break the chains without lying for my heart still resists.
-I guess the more she is told that she is truely loved, the less she will resist giving this guy her heart.
