For those of you who believe this line..
"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination." (Leviticus 18:22)
Why don't you read the next statement about this very same issue?
"If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them." (Leviticus 20:13)
Why arn't we putting gay people to death? It is the will of God...right?
Also since being gay is such an abomination... let's go through the OTHER things which are considered abominations, shall we?
"But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:10)
"Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales; that shall be an abomination to you." (Leviticus 11:12)
"They (shellfish) shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination." (Leviticus 11:11)

Here are some other things that are forbidden by the Bible...
"...do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear material woven of two kinds of material." (Leviticus 19:19)
"...and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, is unclean to you." (Leviticus 11:7) (Basically you can't eat pork)
"Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." (Leviticus 19:27)

Basically what I'm trying to say here is this:
Until you follow all the rules layed out in the Bible, which you consider to be the word of The Lord, you have NO RIGHT to condemn others for not doing so.
Ok?

Here are some other gems for you(posted these in another thread)

Proof of the 'love' of God in the bible

"God" slaughtered innocent babies because of Pharaoh's stubbornness: "At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.” (Exod. 12:29)

"God" had babies dashed to pieces and pregnant women ripped open: "The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open." (Hosea 13:16)

"God" wanted children to be murdered as human sacrifices: "I let them become defiled through their gifts - the sacrifice of every firstborn - that I might fill them with horror so they would know that I am the Lord.” (Ezek. 20:26)

"God" threatened to have innocent children be devoured by wild animals: “I will send wild animals against you, and they will rob you of your children, destroy your cattle and make you so few in number that your roads will be deserted.” (Lev. 26:22)

"God" threatened to have children cannibalized: "If in spite of this you still do not listen to me but continue to be hostile toward me, then in my anger I will be hostile toward you, and I myself will punish you for your sins seven times over. You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters.” (Lev. 26:27-29)

"God" ordered the genocide of women, children and babies: "Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”” (1 Sam. 15:2-3)

"God" aborted fetuses and murdered children in answer to the prophet Hosea's prayer: "Give them, O Lord – what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry .... Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring." (Hosea 9:14-16)

"God" murdered a baby because of David's adultery: “Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the Lord." Nathan replied, "The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. But because by doing this you have made the enemies of the Lord show utter contempt, the son born to you will die." (2 Sam. 12:13-14)

"God" ordered people to kill their brothers, friends and neighbors: “Then he said to them, "This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.'" (Exod. 32:27

You are absolutely correct! The people making statements about the law being done away with are incorrect. It has not been done away with. Most people have been told by false ministers that the clean food law was changed in Acts 10 verse 11. That is a lie! The meaning of the apostle, Peter's, vision is revealed as we keep reading Acts 10 especially verse 28. There are physical consequences to violating God's law. That's one reason we have so many diseases. The animals that He says are unclean are the scavengers of the earth. Lobster, shrimp, and catfish, just to name a few, clean the bottom of the lakes and oceans. Pork is high in nitrates and nitrites which are poisonous to humans. If our court system was set up as God instructed, which it used to be, the testimony of two witnesses would be required to convict. Under His system evidence is considered a witness.(DNA, chemistry, etc.,etc.)

First, the Bible is written selectively by men and passed through the minds of men. Translated, latinised, edited, sustained addition and deletion, change of words Like "begotten son" with "unique son". JESUS HAS NOT WRITTEN A SINGLE LETTER IN THE SO CALLED "BIBLE"! STOP LYING. HE DOES NOT EVEN KNOW THE WORD "BIBLE" SHOW ME A BOOK OR A CHAPTER WHERE THE AUTHOR IS JESUS? You might be a doctor, lawyer or an engineer who might negotiate/prove/disprove of matters or issues but when it comes to the "BIBLE" you don't apply your brain! You don't use it properly. forget about the "Bible". Why do God need to begets a son(who humans will kill and dies tragically)and Why then the "God Son" -use men as God used to to- to accomplish what he fails to do? And do you have adequate information on the Bible's writers? All you know the names and many of the writers are anonymous. Lady, the Bible should not be read. Reading it is a waste of time and believing in it as it is today is no more than insult to the free mind that God bestowed upon mankind.

Because people have a bad habit of not accepting the complete truth, only the bits and pieces of truth that doesn't offend them.

Like the gay thing, yes according to God's Torah, all homosexuals are to be stoned to death. So who's stopping this? Not God, not Torah, not scripture. Man's law. Local government.

People have stood up and declared they do not believe in God or His commandments. While some still serve men, like "You shall not murder", others like stone the homosexual doesn't fit in with a human's idea of compassion.

So many will pick and choose what they want to live by.
You will find very few willing to live by EVERYTHING God has commanded. And when you find one who does -
you will find a true holy man of God.

Soap Box anyone?

Add these ones too. Provebs 6:

16These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

But, you also have to remember, that was Old Testament Law, both the food law, and the stoning of homosexuals. With the New testament, the fulfillment of Gods promise with the birth of Jesus, the laws apparently changed. Also, the Bible lays out that we are to follow the laws of the land, and stoning homosexuals isnt one of ours.

How about we enforce this one:

Ezekiel 18:13 ...and lends money at interest. Should such a sinful person live? No! He must die and must take full blame.

If there is a hell, and the bible is mostly true, 99.99999% of all Christians, including G. Bush, Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, et al will all have front row seats.

Too bad it's just a book of mythology.

so much causes are egocentric. nonetheless, in the event you bear in mind that the bible is divinely motivated, but additionally written via imperfect guy, then might be materials of it are not real. you additionally ought to ask what the bible particularly is. for example, what did the early christians do for a couple of hundred years till the councils began assembly and assembled the brand new testomony? in fact that the bible won't get you into heaven, however it has many well concepts.

trust me on this one, don't go there! it will only get you frustrated, i tried it, did it, tried to figure out the selective use of bible-quotes. They will never see it. They won't even try to see it. They won't even begin to try to see it. They won't even start to begin to try to see it.

The simple truth is: the bible is a beautiful book, filled with nice stories, nice rules to live by, nice guidelines.

Most of the guidelines are completely outdated, but the best ones about Love, Understanding, Respect and Tolerance are universal up to today. These are also the guidelines you can find in any book about Humanity by the way. But those guidelines hold up to today.

A group of Christians is so brainwashed into what "the Lord" might think of their actions, that they live their lives in constant fear of doing something wrong.

In Holland we have a festivity, Saint-Nicholaus (no idea if he also comes to the USA). He brings the children presents on december 5th, each year. Very sweet and nice. But he also has a book in which he keeps track of everything we did during the year. Good things, bad things. And when you did bad things, you have the risk of getting lesser presents. You also have the risk of going with him on his boat and be punished if you do something wrong.
It's basicly the same principle. Kids get scared of Saint-Nicholaus. It's almost sad that we people need fake invented punishment to make us live Good instead of Bad.

Christians do this, and in their fear they take every help that they can grab their hands on. Therefor they need the bible-quotes, explore them, give meaning to them, to curse on everything that scares them. They don't curse on Right ot Wrong, just oin their own fear.

Just as a kid sometimes does right, based on the fear of Saint-Nicholaus, the christians do it based on the fear of Hell. it's kinda funny, in a sad way.
Children should be taught right from wrong based on their hearts, their feelings and their instincts. Sadly enough christians are usually too much adult already to change their concept.

They quote these Leviticus-sentences to condemn homosexuality. While the truth is, Leviticus would go to jail in Holland if he lived today, for saying what he says.

Easy... they believe Jesus ended all of that. Supposedly that isn't good anymore (even though it's from the same God they claim sent Jesus to begin with... you know, the one who doesn't change... who's the same Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow?)
Honestly though, it does appear that the religious ideas expressed within the Old Testament have "grown up" accordingly with the Society is was addressed to... Nomadic Tribal People. And as Lewis Black (comedian) said... "The Jews were messed up! They needed something to straighten them out!"
And before a huge argument goes off about Lewis Black's statement... he's a jew. Take it up with him.

You're partially right! Jesus said "I didn't come to abolish the law but to fulfill it." What you have failed to see is we have laws of the land. We shouldn't go around killing homosexuals because they are living in sin even though we do have nut cases that follow that path but we should let God be their ultimate judge and if they don't change let hell be their home. Now about the food you have mention I agree totally with you these foods can even cause harm to your body. Be true to ur self and pray for others!

Why do you torture yourself with the Bible, SINCERITY is more important and live your life fully. Let the others think what they want, and follow their choices +- ; ++ ; -- ; -+ as long as they are happy and project that to the cosmos.

Have you read the book "The God of Small Things" ? Or watch the movie "Life is beautiful". Don't loose time on old books, live in reality the thrue meanings of life.

Good luck
