I'd suggest getting your blood glucose level and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level checked by your physician. There are other things like depression or pregnancy (are you still menstruating?) that can cause a person to eat excessively. You also may not be eating the right types of food. Protein and fat rich foods tend to keep you full longer than carbohydrate rich foods (chips, pastas, breads). But I can tell you that 60 lbs in 6 months is way too much, and unhealthy. You definitely need to make an appointment with your physician!

Me too!! I can almost always eat. It is like once I get a meal down, especially if I eat breakfast, I am just a hungry little animal. Let this madness stop.
I agree with other answerer's--that we could be dehydrated. I also agree that a person should drink a glass of water or tea before a meal.
For me, I have found that drinking fruit smoothies with low fat yogurt taste GREAT and really fill me up --like a full meal. Plus I don't get hungry as fast. So maybe try that and see if it works for you.

Are you having lots of stress? From work, home, relationship?
Are you going through hormonal changes?
Have you gone thru some lifestyle changes in the last 6-7 months?
Look into those aspect in your lifestyle. Look for trigger point that cause you to have the feeling of being hungry.
Eat healthily, and know your body well, and eat accordingly.
Good luck

It's the white stuff!. Carbohydrate hits your bloodstream like a ton of bricks, spiking your glucose and insulin. When you body clears it away (into fat storage) the insulin goes looking for more food and you get hungry. Try weaning yourself off processed flour, rice, potatoes and sugar for a bit and see if that helps. Wheat flour, sweet potatoes, brown rice, etc,. won't cause as big of a spike and crash. Protein and veggies are excellent filler that take a long time to digest too.

maybe you have hyperglycemia..high blood sugar. when one's blood sugar gets too high, one can eat and eat because the glucose is not being used for energy, hence the body feels starved and signals the brain that it's hungry. try drinking water instead and see your doctor ASAP! are you urinating a lot as well? sleeping a lot more and still feel tired? sudden changes like this should be evaluated by a health care professional.

You need to eat larger portions of protein and smaller carbs. Eat lean meats and complex carbs 6 meals a day. If you eat lean meat and healthy then you can eat more often and not gain weight. In fact eating more often will make you metabolisem higher and you will loose weight.
If you do this right you will never feel hungery. Sometimes you will have to make yourself eat to fit in all 6 meals.

Actually that is VERY common when you have an ulcer or acid reflux. (It doesn't always hurt). I recommend that you try Cimetidine (Tagamet) twice a day for a week, and then go to one a day for 3 more weeks. It will help emmensely and you'll be amazed how much better you feel (and how often you are NOT hungry anymore).

I get like this sometimes...esp when I am PMSing!! What helps me is to keep healthy foods in the house. Apples, salad, bagels....that kind of thing. And lots of times, whenI think I am craving some kind of food, its my body's way of saying I am thirsty. So, I drink lots of water ot fill myself up and then I am satisfied for a while. Plus, extra water helps you lose weight!

maybe you have a tapeworm
Seriously, it sounds like you have something medically wrong with you. You need to see a doctor. That doesn't sound normal to put on so much weight in such a short amount of time.
