nah, it's not a big deal. At the MOST, you might have to get a little prick on your cheek from a small oral needle to numb your mouth, but it's not much of an issue at all. It doesn't feel good, but for as short as it is, you'll live. The process of the filling is a real common one, doesn't hurt. :)

Be aware that several years ago a lot of questions were raised about amalgam fillings. Pay $20 extra for the white bondo stuff.

Depends on who your dentist is. If he is really good (mine was), he will be skilled at numbing your mouth with the needle. After that, if the cavity is not too deep, the filling is a little uncomfortable at worst. If the cavity is really deep, he may have to break the tooth apart. THAT is painful.

Not necessarily, the only thing that comes close to pain is when they numb you mouth. After about two sticks with the needle you won't feel anything, and minimal pain afterwards.

I had 8 cavities filled without any shots becuase im deathly afraid of shots. If you've ever had metal fillings and touched it with tin foil or something metal, it feels annoying like that when your teeth are getting drilled without shots.

not really. there is a little poke when they numb your mouth. it smells funny cause they drill your tooth, and you feel pressure, but thats about all. it can be a little bit sore after the number wears away, but its not bad. the worst part is trying to eat soup afterward! you WILL have a soupface cause you cant feel your lip! and smiling? forget it. dont try to smile while you are numbed up. you look ridiculous!

I had one not that long ago. They assured me that there'd be no pain, and they were right. The only scary part was the long needle thing he used to numb my mouth lol

It always hurts to go to the dentist but the worst pain will be in your backside right where your wallet resides!
