Why is poverty,corruption & intolerance prevalent in some countries like India ?

Hi, I am deeply disturbed to see poverty,corruption,intolerance,lack of basic amenities & healthcare & illiteracy in so called deeply religious India ?
Why Christian countries have been blessed ?

Whenever anyone see's hunger and all the problems of the world we all feel sick to our hearts for what is going on. In some countries like India the population is so huge it must be hard to get a good handle on all the problems that exist. The people in power either live with it and do nothing or they leave it to social groups like the late mother Theresa's organization. If the government put forth more effort to start new programs and appoint great leaders to enforce them... to make jobs, housing, health services available for the people at large hopefully you would see changes before it really gets so out of hand the whole world would have to come to their aide. Look at the countries of Sudan and Dar fur or the Palestinian problem...just a couple more where the people are going without the basics most of us take for granted. There is no easy answer..just that we need people who are on the top in our governments to show they have a heart for the little people who are suffering and it's not their fault it's the card they were dealt in life.

Since there is poverty, corruption and intolerance is very much prevalent. Once upon a time India was called as the Golden land of the world, richest and the holiest place. Now since India is the oldest country it has been dried of resources. Another main reason is as the moral values, ethics, human values, spiritual values and social values dried up, this has become the root cause for all other major problems. We need to promote moral values verymuch so that whether we have anything or not, atleast we could live in Peace. Nice thought my dear friend, God and the mother land will be proud for ur concern.

Blame it on the westerners like Potuguese and British who once colonized the country for hundreds of years. I'm not sure what kind of religion they believe in at that time. Are they christian?

Civilization in India is among the earliest in world beside Babylon, China, and Egypt.

India was also a very wealthy country before being colonized by western powers especially during Moghul Empire

When the western came into power, they didn't care about the welfare of the people of India. All they know is how to suck the country's wealth and channel it back to their country for all developments and industrial revolution. They let the people of India live in poverty and without education so that the people become weak and never fight back. This was what they want, they want the people of the countries they colonized become so stupid that never think about getting an independence. Living in poverty and without education at that time makes the people of India in a very desparate situation and force them to do bad things like corruption to survive. But the westerner never bother about this situation for hundreds of years

But God are always on the victimized's side. India, with Gandhi as a hero finally managed to chase out the robbers in 1948

When India got its independence from the British, the situation had reach it's chronic stage and may take many many years to undo the cruelty of the westerners. India now is struggling very hard. In less than 100 years they managed to develop the country where progress rate is very high.

What do you expect, solving a few hundred year old problem overnight?

Is there any country in the world called a christian country? There are many countries especially in Europe where majority of the people are christian but we can't say that they are christian countries as most of them adopted democracy to rule their countries and never refer to any bible or any teaching of christianity when they want to rule the countries

So they are 'blessed' because they are christians. Wrong!.

They have actually taken or robbed all the wealth from countries they unethically colonized for few hundreds years and developed their own countries using other countries' wealth. Is this a blessing? Or cheating?

There also in some part of the world where the majority of the people are christian but their country is poor. Good example are countries in South America.

By the way, I'm not an Indian or a citizen of India.

They aren't though. India is no worse off than so-called Christian countries. These things happen in all countries. As India has a long history of spiritualism it is disturbing though.

They haven't there is corruption everywhere, particularly where the education of the masses has been neglected, and why would those in power want to change that.

Maintain the status quo and line your own pockets seems to be the catchcry. Oh hang on a minute, isn;\'t that the conservative government slogan?

not only india,u can say Pakistan , Bangladesh, Nepal
but i belong to India so this time only can talk better abt India ,

India's most problem ,increasing day by day , is population called 'population explosion'.number of peoples growing day by day, and according to people, demands of housing , jobs, food, health/education facilities, also increasing, the government trying to fill up this gap on their level, but ratio of growing population is much faster then services ,which government try to provide.and result of this disorder is poverty,corruption,and intolerance.

unfortunately India government cudn't able to understand this basic fact. today china ,the most growing power of world, since last so many years, controlled their population immdetly , they supported family planning like only 1 baby per family, n today they hv controlled over their problems, but Indian people and media feel they hv other important issues like politicians affairs, cricket, mandir /masjid fights and finally India come to finish with bollywood glamour,

none of politician or civilized indian , don hv time to think abt most dangers reason for poverty,corruption,and intolerance.

Because the caste system is strong in India. And unfortunately, the number of the rich people is fewer than the poor. Besides, the government doesn't care about it. It's becoming worse.

Why India? there are lots of other countries are also facing same problems, even america, uk, " China" corruption are everywhere in the world, in america u will also found corruption, intoleance, even u will found some peoples eating only burger per day, in america also local peoples searching for job, they running road side food stall, wat i can say about india is, we are still happy, u will find a simle on every single indian's face,

Religion has nothing to do with it, the main problem, i feel is because of exploitation, selfinshness and constant bickering of one upman ship without considering the country.
