everytime i blink fast at a fan up in the ceiling it goes clockwise instead of the usual counter clockwise

It is just like viewing a movie. You are getting individual images every time you blink and if you go at the right pace, the images make the fan appear to go backwards.
Heres a litle more about it:
Our eyes view images at 60 hertz. That means that the image is renewed 60 times every second. When something moves slowly enough, we can see every change it makes. When it moves quickly, we can only see some of the images.
Examples are when you look at a floor fan and it seems to be moving backward. Or when you watch a car tire rotate and it seems to slow down and then go backward.
There are spinning tops with colors on top that take advantage of this idea to make illusions.

Our electricity runs at 60 hertz (some lights would seem to blink if it ran slower)
Every now and then you will see a cheap movie recorded at less than 60 hertz and the movements will seem choppy.

Look at the empty spaces not the blades, if you have the same result, that means you're not catching up. Switch off the fan and notice its momentum till it stops.

well now that is interesting. very interesting. of course i'm going to feel compelled to do that now. i won't let anyone see me do it, but i'll admit, i will. just to see if it's true. this bit of information is absolutely useless to me, but still interesting and encouraging to know that someone out there is paying attention to details and hasn't lost the capacity of curiosity, which of course leads to creativity. and creativity leads to things beyond................................. i really mean this too. thanks for sharing this hun. lol
