Yes I do, but it isn't only in class that this happens. It amazes me that some people can't go long enough to enjoy a good meal in a nice restaurant without having to take a call. It is rude!

Don't get me wrong I think cell phones have their place, for emergency's and such, but I do not feel that the phone has to be glued to your ear 24 hours a day. And don't even bring them up while in a car!

Yes, cellphones are a pain in the butt that way. Some instructors have answered the ringing cell phones and embarrassed the student as well as the caller. But it is funny for the rest of the class.

yes i really hate it!!! one minute your deep in thought actually listening to the professor hoping to pass his/her class and then all of a sudden you get distracted by the sound of a horrible ringtone that sounds just identical to an ice cream truck. oh,and don't get me started on the part where the cell phone user actually picks up the phone and goes off at the person on the other end wondering how on earth did he misplace his car keys. like i said before,i really hate it!!!!

What bothers me all most as much is the people that have to text during class. It's a big distraction, and to think i pay to listen to someone clicking away

yep i agree... and no its not just a simple mistake.... cell phones don't belong in school period. personally if you are in class and your cell phone "rings" and everyone hears it... the instructor/teach should have that student leave and come back when they know how to "work" their cell phone. might sound harsh but i know a few instructors who have done this.

and same should go for cell phones at the movie theater

It really depends.....Is it my favorite subject? Do I like the teacher? if both of those answers are yes, I would say it is aggrivating.....enough to waste time over? Not so sure. However(!), if I don't like the class/teacher and the teacher pauses for the ring........let it ring!!!

Don't you hate it when people post silly questions like this as though they never made a simple mistake like forgetting to turn off their cell phone?

You should hire a professional to elaborate to you how this complex 'cell phone' works so you can turn it off on your own.
