answer from another stupid:

("So, you're so righteous as to judge someones faith, and call it false?
Well, all faith is false then. Because a faith is believing in SOMETHING. And no matter who believes in what, it's all false to someone else. So, you tell us what you have faith in, and I assure you that it's false to someone else. Does that make you stupid? Maybe, then we're all stupid aren't we... Just as stupid as a suicide bomber..")

your faith really makes you stupid by your stupid answers. what is good about killing innocent people for your stupid cause.

A suicide bomber's faith can be found just as true as any other man's faith. It's quite ignorant for you to make such an assertion.

I never claimed that it would justify his cause, I am simply stating that you can not prove that his faith is false. It is just as true as anyone else's. Maybe you should try reading sometimes. It really helps.

Suicide bombers can be of any faith or none, although having a faith that you believe guarantees you an eternal reward, either in some form of Paradise or through reincarnation, will encourage some.

In the Second World War, a British officer leading a commando raid behind German lines in the Desert War thought he had located Erwin Rommel in a meeting. Using a grenade (it's a hand bomb), he wiped out everybody in the room, being killed himself in the process. Suicide bomber, yes - stupid, I don't think so. I hope I would have the courage to do the same -as it turned out, Rommel wasn't there, but the officer received the Victoria Cross anyway (= (American) Congressional Medal of Honour).

In the same war, some German units used human guided torpedos to attack allied shipping. Once the operative was sure the torpedo could not miss, he was meant to try and escape, so it wasn't exactly suicide bombing, but a frogman type suit didn't exactly offer much protection against underwater explosions and a posting to such a unit was a virtual death sentance.

Killing yourself by flying a plane at an enemy target is nothing new either, witness the attacks on US warships by Japanese aircrew. Falling cherry blossom or kamikaze? It depends which side you are on and the values of the society you were raised in.

You have criticised two respondents to your question rather unfairly and I think you should apologise.

You asked the question "what makes suicide Bombers stupid" and then offered "his false faith" as the reason they are stupid.

The two who you criticised pointed out that the faith of the suicide bomber is just as valid as your own faith.

Virtually by definition faith is a belief in something for which there is no proof. A suicides bombers faith is no more unreasonable than your own.

This does not mean that either myself or the two people you criticised condone the behaviour of terrorists, simply that we can understand why they do what they do.

They commit their crimes, which I readily accept are evil, not because they are stupid but because they believe their sacrifice is for their god and that they will be granted eternal life in paradise.

The main problem is that your question is flawed. It assumes that a suicide bomber is stupid. However you have provided no evidence to support this assumption.

A suicide bomber is no more stupid than a Jehovah's Witness (for example) who is prepared to let themselves or their child die rather than allow a life saving blood transfusion. They both act on their personal beliefs, not through stupidity.

His beliefs that he will go to heaven as a martyr. It is not stupidity so much as a highly misguided belief. Suicide attacks are a kind of tactic, planned and organized by extremely committed military or paramilitary groups. Since the 1980s, the low cost and high lethality of the tactic have made it a favorite with guerrilla, insurgent, and especially terrorist groups, notably in the Middle East and Sri Lanka. The Tamil Tigers were, as of 2000, "unequivocally the most effective and brutal terrorist organization ever to utilize suicide terrorism"; since the Tigers signed a cease-fire in 2001, suicide bombings by Islamist militants, mostly in the Al-Aqsa Intifada and the Iraqi insurgency, have been the most frequent and cumulatively destructive. The September 11, 2001 attacks used hijacked airplanes to become the largest and most destructive individual suicide attacks on one day.

Ok some of these guys are victims. They have been conned and brainwashed. Imagine the plight a young woman must be in to do this. The dispair and lack of hope. The loss of children, familly etc can lead people to do crazy things.

On the other hand some are just stupid.

It is not just Muslims here all religious people can be conned by their leaders it is a fundamental flaw (and trait) of fundamental relgion eg God is broke give ME your money (says the rich preacher man). The child crusades are another more extreme example.

Not stupid. Just darn angry that their faith and customs have been targetted and wrongly persecuted and lied about by American dictators who blow up their own country in an attempt to create a stranglehold on the nation and blame innocent people.
That's enough to make anyone angry, don't you think ????

I think that anybody that believes in an afterlife and that their life on earth is a buildup or sendoff to the afterlife is stupid, whether they are christian, muslim, hindu or buddist.

A christian that shoots an abortion doctor and hides in the woods of WV is just as stupid to me...whether he kills himself of not is irrellevent, its the extreme nature of their behaviour that is stupid.

But there is one thing that may make suicide bombers extra dumb......they are usually talked into it by somebody that wouldn't even think of doing the same thing themselves (like osama the hiding dickweed).
