I have a floor fan blowing in cold air from outside (poor man's air conditioner). He's sitting behind the fan and doing his best tom cat meow into the fan. He's neutered... but could he be singing for the girl cats in the neighborhood.

No. What he is doing is getting the air from outdoors before it gets sucked into the fan. It has a milder breeze than the blow you get from the fan because the fan blades on the backside of the fan are shaped to not exact the forced air. But he feels it anyway. He just feels good.

the cat had to much cat nip!!!! they have a thing about watching the blade of the fan moving and i suppose the kitty is entertaining you he has a talent get this on video and send it to the funniest video's and win $10,000 bucks for funniest animal CAT SINGING FROM BEHIND THE FAN THAT MUST SOUND LIKE A LOUD ECHO ! Maybe he's fascinated by the sound of his meowing being reverberated back off of the fan? Like when you talk into a fan and hear your voice bounce back all chopped up.

You know I honestly don't have an answer for you on this. However it sounds to me like you have one very fun loving animal to me. That or he's just so nutty he doesn't even realize he's fixed *hehe*.
Maybe you should tape him the next time he does it and play it back to him see what he does. That or just tape it and post it to your question here from a link so we can all hear what it sounds like *smile*

he's singing into the fan for the same reason you used the fan when you were 8 for your best Darth Vadar impersination. It sounds cool. Your cat is playing.

That's cute. I think he might be just entertaining himself. I see little kids singining into rotating fans because the vibrations bounce back and their voices sound robotic. Maybe he has noticed this and is having a little fun.
