Was Jesus crucified in the morning or the afternoon?

(Mark 15:25 NRSV) It was
*nine o’clock in the morning* when they crucified him.

(John 19:14-16 NRSV) Now it was the day of Preparation for the Passover; and *it was about noon*. He said to the Jews, "Here is your King!"

They cried out, "Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!" Pilate asked them, "Shall I crucify your King?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but the emperor."

Then he handed him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus;

He was crucified in the morning, and he died at 3pm.

People here need to get this right. He was crucified in the morning and died in the afternoon. He lasted on the cross for around 6 hours.

Mark 15:25 "And it was the third hour, and they crucified him."

According to experts, Judaeans started their timetelling after sunrise, which is presumably 6am. Hence the third hour from 6 am is 9am. "Third Hour" does not refer to the third hour from noontime, but third hour from sunrise.

Jesus was crucified at 9 am. Mark 15:25 says: "It was the third hour when they crucified him."

The Jewish clock began at daybreak, normally 6 am in the region. From there on, time was counted as every hour passed by. So the third hour after daybreak is 9 am.

Neither. Jesus was not crucified. Rather, the bible mentions he was hung on a steak, a vertical stcik like structure. This happened in the afternoon.
