How sincere is it to say you love somebody you don't know?

It may be decent to say but does it really have any depth or mean anything other than to make somebody feel good about themselves that they say these types of things?

Otherwise, just saying "I love everyone" is not much different than saying "I love food".

Yes, when you realize that people only sin because they are hurting themselves or slaves to addiction and sin.

For example most homosexuals were either molested or had a father figure propose sexual acts with them when they were at a tender or vulnerable stage. If people would understand them a little more they might be able to help them; but, some won't even try. It is not a joyous or "gay" existence..it is rather dark, painful and lonely existence. That's a best case scenario dying from AIDS is the start of the worst. I wouldn't wish AIDS on anyone...it's a slow merciless destroyer. I'm not homosexual myself; but, I have been friendly to folks that participate in that behavior.

Knowing the consequences of peoples actions can really lead you to LOVE the sinner and HATE the sin.

(Jud 1:21) Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
(Jud 1:22) And of some have compassion, making a difference:
(Jud 1:23) And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

I would have to say yes, but it doesn't happen all at once. It is line upon line and precept upon precept. As we learn to live and follow in the footsteps of our Savior Jesus Christ we grow in understanding and knowledge. And as our light and understanding grows so does the ability to love others grow. Our whole purpose is to become more like our Savior and if we apply ourselves and try, I do think that it becomes possible. But I do think that the only way in which it is possible, is through a great love and desire to follow in Jesus Christ's footsteps. If you don't have that love and help from Him, then no I don't think it's possible.

Yes, if you keep in mind the concept that we are all One in God.

Each soul is a perfect individuation of God and together, we form God. Just as a drop of water from the ocean is made of the same matter as the ocean, it takes all the drops together to form the ocean. So it is with us and God. Hate another and you hate yourself, you hate God.

However, I don't think it's possible to LIKE everyone. Pretty darn near impossible I'd say.

You can love everyone if you live knowing that nothing is personal. People do things based on their own experience or beliefs. Not based on others. Also if you can learn to allow people to believe and live as they want. That means you need to understand that as you want to have that freedom in your life you have to offer it to others. For me I see everything as chances to learn and grow so in every situation I look for the lesson. Hitler taught compassion without that being his intention. Kind of like that.

Most definitely!! But I honestly believe that you have to love yourself before you are truly capable of being able to fully love someone else. And no matter how long it may take you to find that person...and it could be a long time....you will find the one that you can and will love. Pamela

I think it depends upon the person. My mother for instance has a heart of gold. But me, I love people, just not bad ones.

No. I don't think you can love everyone. I try to respect all I meet, even if I really REALLY wanna choke them till they pass out. I don't hate anyone, but I sure don't LOVE everyone either. Some people are just... well... not so loveable. :-P~~~
