There is a limit to how long you should wait for your meal to arrive, but you need to keep in mind that there are acceptable variances to the rules. Fast food should be to you in minutes...under six minutes inside and less than four minutes drive-thru. Convenience dining such as Denny's, TGI Fidays and Applebee's should be no longer than 15 - 17 minutes if you are not having a salad first. Fine dining takes longer. Some dishes have fresh sautee involved, or lobster which goes live from the tank to the kitchen might take up to 25 minutes to prep and serve. Also...if you order a big juicy steak and then ask for it to be cooked xtra xtra well....be prepared to wait longer than the guy who ordered rare!!

If the chef is really good, 30-45 mins. Normal restaurants, 15-25 mins.

Depending on if you order an appetizer, I'd say no more than 15-20 minutes before you can become pretty disatisfied.

it would depend on how busy the place was. if it was not busy, i would expect my food fairly quickly, maybe 15-20 minutes depending on what i ordered. if the place is booming, i would be willing to wait longer. the kitchen and kitchen staff number doesn't change and the amount of space doesn't change, no matter how busy it is.
