I feel that most of the people that post those types of question are younger people that are just coming into the world of racism and hate. I have come across many of these questions. Depending on the way the question is stated and whether or not I have an opinion on the particular subject, I may answer the question. But I do so in a way that explains my exact position on the subject, without adding to any hatred and making a point to stress that we are all people, no matter what color we are or where we come from. And I try to get the person to see where they have erred in their question. Many of my answers are long and draw out. I on;y do this so that I can fully explain myself and my reasons for feeling a certain way. Some of these people are just plain @$$holes and I tell them so, and report them. There's no place in my life for racism or stereotyping. I am a young, white, female and I have Mexican, black, white, Muslim, and many other types of friends. I don't judge a person on what they look like, but rather their character and their actions.

I've noticed the same and am astonished and extremely disappointed, much of that sort of thing is EXACTLY why so many others around the world (in turn) hate us!
Arrogance and ignorance and a lack of reverence, respect and self respect. Theres probably hundreds of things which make up the whole. It runs so deep and is so widespread now that I doubt seriously it can or will improve. Each individual simply not being that way or at least trying not to be that way is the only thing one can do to help it....
At the very least, on an individual basis one can actually look in the mirror and be happy with what they see and sleep at night! When lucky..... not being that way, someone else may see it and it would be a (or set a) good example.

I have made some remarks about the ways some things are playing out in this country. I personally love my country but question my government.
What scares me are those people who don't question their government; that is the real reason this country is what it is.
As for racial bigotry and cultural intolerance; that is a sad affair for all parties involved. Those doling it out are truly displaying an ignorance that is deeper than your run of the mill stuff.
Just to clarify I am a 26 yr old white male, registered independent; but I lean toward the left. I have seen alot of ignorant things on this site; but the most aggravating is when someone totally bashes something or someone with no argument to back it up. People need to learn to debate before they go putting their two cents in. I grant anybody the right to their stance or beliefs, but they gotta tell me why they feel that way on an issue.

You're right. There are a lot of really dumb, prejudiced questions out there. I've answered more questions like that than I can count. Some questions have been about illegal immigrants, white people trying to be "black", insulting other people's political beliefs, etc. I usually try to counter their biased assumptions with researched answers, except for one (it was the one about the illegal immigrants-- I said that I thought that illegal immigrants are being short changed because there is a lot that we don't know about how they live, but I haven't "taken sides" yet. I also said that everybody should research both sides of the debate thoroughly before making judgments.)
I always try to encourage more open-minded thought by telling people to actually know why they believe what they do and to try consider the opposing viewpoint.
For the white people trying to be black because of rap, I don't remember exactly what I said, but it included a history of black influence on music. I told the asker that jazz became popularized by African Americans during the Harlem Renaissance (a cultural movement in the African American community during the 1920s,) rock and roll was a term that was used mostly within the African American community during the early stages of rock, and a few other examples. I forgot to include that swing dance was invented by blacks.
Anyway, I empathize with your annoyance at they're tunnel vision. But, what can you do? Whether or not they change their minds, you can at least say that you tried to widen their view a little bit.

Wow if only I could rate this the best question ever I would. I completely agree with you!!! Here I was feeling all alone thinking... maybe USA is more prejudiced than I thought. I hope it's not really a reflection of the real America... I've been spending my day in the immigration section and there are a lot of bad people there. IT scares me and annoys me. I want to scream some people and punch them and I've never felt that way towards my COMPUTER SCREEN!

I understand what your saying, but I look at it from the point of view that not all questions are from Americans, and some of the questions are likely from younger people who may have heard negative stereotyping from others and could be asking questions in innocence....obviously this isn't always the case since thier are so so very many ignorant people in all parts of the world. What is nice is that most people tend to respond with good answers, at least to the questions I saw. I believe it shows that the majority of people wish to live with harmony with everyone, and they don't tolerate "anti-" remarks.

Dear Fellow American, some people are simply mean and rude. They have nothing better to do than bash everyone else without first looking in the mirror. Keep on loving your country. You are a future leader! I would much rather have my country lead by compassionate individuals rather than those full of righteousness, prejiduce and hate. It sounds like you are a good person with a kind heart. Continue being who you are!!! Forget the haters. :-)

As bad as it is (and it'll never be perfect), huge progress has been made since our grandparents time. But compared to EVERYwhere else in the world, we're doing great! We have to guard against events and laws that reverse-discriminate - they set us back. Neither Repubs or Dems will help the situation - the problem is not political, but spiritual. As long as ethnic leaders try to force thought-control on us, the resentment will be counter-productive, and the walls will get bigger. Appealing to the better side of people is the only approach that will have a lasting effect.

This has long previous from being a gadget for assisting others to a communicate board for spreading hate and bigotry. And to Kevin. The shape applies to the USA. Y! solutions is a international communicate board; no person united states of america's policies take priority. additionally, even the form has limits whilst it includes libel, slander and hate-speech (purely verify out the ridiculously long court docket dockets around the USA).

Sister, I learn from everyone, and hate is a terrible thing, fear keeps people from growing and I am a 51 years old black female, just not a republican----------democratic--I pray for them. In many ways it makes me stronger, I see that the need to have more education about racial issues is still very much alive, and the discrimination is very much alive. Keep learning and keep praying for them--they need it. Makes you understand why the world is in the shape that it is.
