My Grandfather is 55 years old ( i think ) and he is lazy. He doesn't ever do anything. When he gets up to go to work, his mother, who is 79, has his toast and cereal on the table every morning. She prepares dinner and cleans it up. He never cleans anything. He "occasionally" does lawn work, but most of the day he sits and watches baseball ( cardinals ) and J.A.G... He says that he doesn't ever do anything but site because he is tired because he wors ALL day... But he makes it out that nobody else works... Is this irritating to you, or is this just me?

p.s. he is also crazy, he has certain night he drinks, and he stops at 9:00... and he has a can of peanuts that he takes little bites out of from time and time again...

She doesn't enjoy it, but does it anyway. And the ONLY issue he has is being my grandfather.

Oh boy! What about all those people who walks around the street or just even sit there begging. He is far lucky than those people... damn lucky. That mother of his will surely be gone soon and he will be sorry. Just take care of yourself, who cares if he is this or that way of life. Everybody has their way of living, you can either accept or reject him. You have that choice. I just don't give a damn if the driver next to me in the traffic is picking his/her noise. Or you can just simply spend more time with great-grandma and help her out, maybe he'll feel guilty that you wouldn't even talk to him instead you will be with her.

Well at least he goes to work and he is not just sitting around collecting a check or something. Most men of that age are probably old fashioned and are not about to lift a finger to do any type of housework. It does irritate me that an almost 80 year old woman is still waiting on someone hand and foot. She might be doing it just to keep herself busy and active. I can't fully answer this because I have some questions about the situation. Such as.... how old are you? Where are your parents? Why aren't you getting up and helping this old woman with the cookinng and cleaning?

Some mothers can't give up caring for a child, but they do them a diservice by not making them move out to there own place. This is irritating to me as well as it is to you. If he were mentally ill then it would be different.

Speaking from experience of a girl who's father is still sucking at mother's teat, I will have to say no. There is a reason that birds leave the nest. They need to learn to fly and grow on their own.

There is no "right and wrong" only situations. Apparently you feel it is wrong or you would not be asking this question posed as it is. Does he feel it is wrong? Does he hurt anyone? Other then your view on how the things would work in a "perfect" world, how would or could it be different and why should it?

Sounds like a good reality show, but to answer your question, it is your Great-Grandmother's fault for putting up with him.
