Usually because they have been hurt before and when they see signs of a previous bad relationship they get doggish because they can't control your actions; feeling like you are going to play him or something!

Men and women have completely different drives that make them tick. Example: men want sex, because they won't be stuck for 9 months, and possibly for the rest of their lives taking care of a baby, possibly alone, Whereas women want commitment because then they won't be alone, taking care of a baby.
