how the hell do you figure out what you want to do for a living?
I'd like a well paying job that I don't have to work a crazy amount of hours. I have a Bachelors degree but being a theatre major psych minor I don't feel I have many options.
Any advice on what to do?

I've done academic advising with liberal arts majors, so I have some experience with career counseling.

There are aptitude tests that can help guide you. The book, "What Color is Your Parachute?" is also good for discovering yourself. Contrary to your statement, you have plenty of options with your BA degree. It just sounds as though you don't have much experience, which is that ol' Catch 22. So, like all the other liberal arts graduates, you'll have to start with an entry level job.

As a theater & psych grad, you'd be well-suited to careers in sales, public relations and teaching. But given your artistic side, you might be happiest working in arts management.

Didn't anyone tell you that the world is your stage. ;-) You really can do anything, and it's a shame you didn't get hold of more guidance while you were still in college. However, as an alumni, I'd expect that your school's counseling services are still available to you. Start there, and proceed to private counselors if necessary. Good luck.

Well - you could teach, you can go into Sales, Motivational Speaker, radio DJ.... etc. But the smarter thing would have been to ask yourself these questions before you spent 4 years of higher education learning to act. I am sure it was emotionally very rewarding but you had to know it wasn't a money maker. Art is wonderful but I am sure you've heard the term, 'starving artist'. At the risk of sounding like my parents, a good paying job that you don't have to work that hard?? Well everyone wants one of those! The only ones that come to mind are civil service government jobs. Oh - and use your spellcheck.

~I don't know. Grow up, maybe.
Not exactly sure what a "councilour" might be, but if it pays good (like anything equal to or above minimum wage) chances are the SOB's in charge are going to expect you to actually show up and do something. Keep picking them Lotto numbers and hope for the best.

go to the college you graduated from and ask if you can take a career assessment test, helping you figure your options... they should be able to help you (as an alumni).
