I bought my persian kitten from someone that had to move soon to a place where pets weren't alowwed and tried to sell their litter quick as possible so i got him for a very good price. the thing is, they told me he was pure persian. sometimes im still in doubt. how do i know if he is pure persian? his nose is kind of like a persian. and he said as he gets older, his face will get flatter. any idea how i could find out?

heres a pic of him, he is 10 wks old.

The only way to know if he is pure persian is if he has papers. Were the parents onsite where you bought him? The place you got him should have given you the papers for him, but I'm guessing his parents weren't registered either. You can take him to a vet or pet store and they could guess, but that's it. It doesn't really matter unless you plan to breed or show him, in which case, a vet's guess doesn't cut it. He's a cute kitten and just be happy with that unless you can contact the people you got him from and get more info.

according to what he looks like in the picture, it is a Persian. The face usually does flatten out with age, but not all Persians have flat faces. That kitten in the picture is GORGEOUS. He is a bi-color. Did you pay alot for him? Persians are normally expensive!

I've fostered Persian mixes before, and have one myself. Yours looks quite a bit more Persian than mine. I would find a Persian rescue or club online and show them the picture.

Does he have papers to prove that the parents were pure persians? If he doesn't, go to a vet and ask them.

Cute, Cute kitten!!! The only way to be sure is if the kitten has "papers" meaning a pedigree documenting parents, grandparents and great grandparents. You can only get them from his breeder, I know they moved, but see if you can contact them. I suggest you enjoy your kitty for who he is. He will love you no matter what his breed.

You could try talking to it in Arabic...See what the kitty has to say about it! Kitty looks Iranian to me! But what do I know...Check with your vet at the next visit. Enjoy your kitty!

The only sure way to tell would be by a DNA test. Just enjoy your cat and don't worry about it.
