I heard once a while ago that it was wrong to do the sign of the cross on yourself with your left hand. It must only be done with the right. Anyway, my son asked me why and I'm not sure how to explain it. Can anyone?

I'm just asking about which hand to use. There's no need to tell me your views on the Catholic church or religion in general.

Im not sure, but I know that the left hand is associated with feminine sensitive energies and the right hand is associated with masculine projective energies. Also black magick and Satanism are known as 'Left hand' paths, having a destructive and/or negative influence. While white magick and adoration of positive dieties are called the 'right hand' path and associated with constructive and positive influence.

The sign of the cross in itself is the mark of the papal beast. Your son was correct, the sign of the cross can only be made with the right hand...I learned this from a "lefty" now a "former" catholic... that was beraided by a priest for using his left hand...got him thinking. (this is not the same man as below)

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

This is what the Protestant Reformation was all about..the office of the papacy "being the very seat of antichrist"

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

PLEASE, dear lady, if you love your son, visit my friends website...a former priest...awakened by the truth...he has a great deal of information that you NEED!!!

I never heard of anything like that when i used to attend.but why would you or your son do the sign of the cross?if you don't know then i suggest you don't.by the way i stopped attending the Catholic church as soon as i was old enough to know what they were about.

I doubt it is considering the sign can be made differently depending on whether you're in Catholicism or Eastern Orthodox, so I'm sure using the left hand isn't a big deal. Besides, it's superficial. God doesn't care about something so minute.

I've been a Christian since 1980 and that's the first time I heard that one.. I would say not true, nothing in the bible about a cross. You shouldn't be marking on yourself anyway.

The easy way to ever prove anything have to do with Christianity and its practices is to ask one simple question: "Do you have a Scripture reference for that?"
