They are all nuts. What you need to do is talk to whoever has the loan on your truck. Tell them that you are going to sell the truck, but it is not worth what you owe on it. Ask them to give you clear title when you sell the truck. Have them then write you a personal loan for the difference and then pay that off. they WILL do this. They already have an Uncollateralized loan with you for the difference between what you owe and what the truck is worth. Call the payments after the truck is gone your 'Stupid Tax' This is what payments are after you did something stupid!

We all do stupid things sometimes with money, yours was buying a truck that you could not afford. If you have to borrow money to buy it you cant afford it! Always pay cash! NEVER borrow money to buy a car! That is just Stupid! Get this truck sold, buy a little Escort or something cheap to drive around while you get this loan paid off as quick as possible. Then start saving up some CASH to buy a better vehicle!

I recomend you read the book 'The Total Money Makeover' by Dave Ramsey. Follow his teachings about money and you will be able to win the money game of life. I KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO THIS!!! It will be hard. It will be Humbling. But it is what NEEDS to be done. Good Luck!

Check with Edmunds.com to appraise your truck to see what it is ACTUALLY worth when selling it.

There are many ways to sell a vehicle, online or offline. We understand you "might" be upside down on your truck but it really depends on the final selling price. Here are some steps we'd suggest you to take before you act:

1. Compare multiple "Blue book" value to the "private party" listing and see what you could get if you decide to sell on your own.

2. Take your truck to your local used car stores for appraisal. Sometime you'd be surprised that the vehicle is actually worth more than what you had in mind. Sell your truck directly to an independent lot can save you a lot of work and time compare to selling it on your own.

Remember to check if there's a Carmax store near you, they usually offer the best price:

3. If you need a replacement vehicle after selling the truck, you might want to just find a new car with a large amount of incentives to cover the difference. Plus, any lender can easily finance 110% of your new car price which will also cover some of the money you owe to your truck.

Get a loan and hold it for about 5 years. By then you will have enough money to pay back the bank. You could also ask your parents for some money or some friends. Those are the best ways.

There are several ways you can advertise it to get it sold. The Car and Truck Trader is one of the best places to advertise. Also, a local paper, and you could also put ads up at grocery stores, markets, etc. Good luck.

Do you have GAP insurance on your loan? Maybe the truck will be "stolen" next month. OOPS!

how up side down are you? but if you are that upside down maybe you should just let the bank or car lot have it back. or make the payments.
