Yeah!!! I did that once! Our power went out for a few days after a storm and I was hungry so I cooked a hot pocket in the fireplace and it was GOOD!

I cooked for years over camp fires since we left our home behind and took to the nation's parks to live in. I have cooked on an electric iron also, and over charcoal. I wasn't barbecuing on the charcoal. I was cooking in pans. I found it easier to cook over and open fire than to cook on a gas stove.
