As a parent of you're teenage daughter, why is it that you can trust her to do things when shes not dating someone, but once she finally is dating someone everything is so limited?

Because of all the peer pressure out there nowadays. Even the most head strong kids can give into this. More and more teens are having sex at younger ages, and most parents figure that if they are strict when it comes to dating, then this is less likely to happen to their child. But this can totally backfire, because some teens can become rebellous and go out and have sex just to make thier parents mad.

you remeber what you did as a teenager and if it was forbidden it was done sooner than later. but member if you trusted her before you should trust her now try talking to her about what goes on while she's on a date remember to listen no matter how upset you get the whole conversation keep a curfew and only one date every two weeks now that doesn't mean he can't come over to talk in the living room infront of the family. keeping it real cause i have a daughter too and I know she will grow up also

I think deep down you trust her its society you dont trust... with peer pressure, rape, drugs, alcohol, sex and so on. You need to make sure she knows you are there for her without sounding like a parent. When it comes to the above topics try and be a friend rather than a parent. And remember whatever you restrict her from doing she will want to do it even more and rebel against u so try and bend the rules a little so she knows you REALLY there for her and you want to make her not only safe but happy as well! Hope ive helped xxxx good luck! xxxx

It isn't that your parents don't trust YOU, it's just that they know situations can develop very, very quickly whenever there's a teenaged boy involved. For lack of a better way of saying this, teenaged guys are only interested in putting "it" in the first available place......and that is that! They will say lies about just about anything to get to that goal, and then they'll go on to the next conquest (IF they have that option).

Be smart for yourself.

Guys want to have sex. They don't have to care or love you. They just want to ____ you. Some could be carrying an infection or disease and not know or know and not care to protect you. He has his own agenda. Pregnancy is the least of a mother's worry now a days. Mother's worry about their daughters being raped, even by someone you know. They worry you could be killed, even by someone you know. The man that respects you the most, that has your best interest at heart, the one that encourages you to follow your dreams even if they don't include him , is the one you spend your time and energy on.

i dont trust my teenage daughters to do anything whether dating someone or not......but i give them freedom to do what they think is best until i see that they dont do what is best then i help them pick the pieces up and learn from the whole thing.

Because it is all about a transition that mothers go through when we see our child with someone we think about sex and kids and drugs we think about all of that we have to deal with it a day at a time when they arent with anyone we dont think that away because all we see is her going with her friends.
