First you need to get on a routine.Going to bed and getting up at the same time every day is a good place to start.Don't force yourself to try and sleep. If you aren't tired get out of bed and read or watch TV.It's not a good idea to do these things in your bedroom because it makes it harder for your body to differentiate between a place it's supposed to relax and sleep and a place where it stays awake and pays attention.Take a hot bath before you get into bed.Make sure that you are comfortable, clean fresh sheets, comfortable PJ's,etc..Try using relaxation Cd's.I use native American music or thunderstorms. You can get them at target. There are also natural and completely safe herbs and such that you can take if nothing these things works.A really good one that my fiance uses is called Melatonin.everyone has a certain amount of it in there body,it works somehow with the darkness. He takes a combination of Melatonin, benadryl, and calcium, magnesium, and zinc. All of these are natural and perfectly safe.Try these and I bet you'll sleep good!

Hi Hon,
You need to relax..

Take a nice bath and make your room dark and cool. Or comfortable. Play some safe peaceful music or sounds in the background. NOT TV or RADIO>> No words type music..

Try to breath in slowly and breath out slowly. Try to clear your mind. Don`t think anything. It is NOT easy to do. Your brain is hard to shut off.. However you can do this..
IT takes a little time but soon it will get easier and easier.. Stretch your arms and relax them, stretch your legs and relax them.. Look into meditation.. It is good... Learn to listen inside..

Hugs from Texas, May your God Bless you {:-)

No joke, buy one of those little desktop water fountain things. Chances are 50-50 that it'll make you conch out pretty fast...or make you go pee :)

Seriously, I swear by those things, have a hard time sleeping without it and it keeps the air moist as well which might help out dryness of the mouth and sinus. Just remember to refill the thing with distilled water - otherwise you might get some funk growing in there.

Magnesium is helpful, but Valerian is something like a "magic bullet." If pharmaceutical companies got a patent on this substance they would charge $50 a pill. The stuff is dirt cheap, and does the trick 70% of the time.

There are breathing exercises you can do. If you breathe in and get your lungs full, move that air down to you stomach and hold it for a few seconds. then let the air out very slow. repeat about 5-6 times. you will be relaxed, you will almost feel as if you have a buzz. try it!!!

If you drink, then a glass of red wine a little before bed time works great! If not, I've heard a warm bath and some relaxing music.

stay busy throughout the day...and don't take a nap whatsoever...and by the end of the day you should feel tired and want to go to sleep.
