DOES IT HURT? CAN YOU FEEL IT? OR ARE THERE NO NERVES IN THAT PART OF THE BONE?

The tooth is basically encased in bone. They usually cut away the "roof" of bone and a little bit around the tooth to get it out. The hole that is left over usually fills back in with bone and shouldn't cause any problems.

That's usually the way that it's handled. They cut the bone around the tooth, of course!
