Woman like to be held for the same reason babies do. It builds trust in the relationship. When a man can supply the needs of his woman and is consistent with it then the woman will trust him to be there for her. Its a human necessity for a nuturing and intimate relationship. If he can't provide holds and hugs which is something you need than he is doing a dis-service to the relationship. He is not providing a basic NECESSITY of the relationship which will cause major problems as the end result.

Women like to be held because its a physical representation that a person cares for you and loves you. It also offers comfort and a sense of protection. For me, being held is like cuddling up under a blanket fresh from the dryer...warm, soft, comforting. It reminds me of home and family. But I think most of all being held is just about touch. People all need touch, especially hugs, its a way of communicating things that can be sometimes difficult to say.

For me when I'm held, by my husband it's a sense of affection, security and just the feeling of compansionship. Being held can be use when you don't know what to say, when all words are lost, when there's an arguement and you just want to end it...there's just so many reasons to as why. It just feels good and it gives us a sense of security. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Men like to be held and like to cuddle too. sure we feel the need to use up some energy and we love quickies but a lot of matured men love being held just like women.

It is many things: It is a warm fuzzy feeling - sense of being loved - sense of security and being safe.
There are those days when nothing seems to go right and being held by my husband kinda makes those things that make you feel bad like they are not so important for awhile; that you are the most important thing for that very moment.

Because they are strong and usually bigger, and it just feels safe and you can FINALLY let your guard down. That's how it is for me, anyway. And without sex or after sex, you aren't "expected" to do anything -- the ultimate in safety!
