define a calling from god?

A call from God is simply God asking you to do something for Him. Most people probably think of a call as being specifically a call into some kind of ministry, but I disagree with that. I believe that God calls people not only to ministers, but to be doctors, lawyers, businessmen, parents, teachers, etc. If you are a Christian, I can guarantee God is calling you to do something, even if that someting is just to wait and listen. In my opinion a call into Christian ministry is not that different from any other calling, except for the fact that is carries some additional responsibilities.

A call from God is similar to what Samuel experienced when he was in Levi's care as a young boy. It doersn't always come to you like that, but when God speaks to your conscience about a change you need to make in your life, or about a job He has for you to do, it's something that consumes you almost every waking moment until you either obey or refuse. It would be hard to refuse a call from God! Don't believe me, read Jonah's story again.

When you know you must serve him in a certain way of life such as a minister, teacher, encourager, prayer warrior, nurse, and it doesn't matter what the odds are against you - nothing will do but to fulfill the calling God has placed within your heart, mind and soul. Everything about you will lean in that direction and bring no satisfaction until you have accomplished it in God's way.

God called his people to do a great work. He calls some to be preachers, some teachers etc. These are our good works. But usually it is a knowing that you must do something and of course like many things and even though you may be called you have to choose to be the one choosen.

well if u r a true belever , and have faith and give your heart and sole to GOD and when you turn your life over to God putting all others before God then u might be one of the few that have a calling from God , God calls everyone that he calls for diffrent reasons , sometimes it may be for charity work sometimes voluteer work sometimes it may be just to talk to someone to keep them from cominting sucide etc , somepepole belive they get there calling from god in a dream , somewhen they see something that they may like to do to try and help someone , God keeps us on this earth for reason that we may never find out why well others will find out , just like God takes some pepole from this earth and we all wounder why , he may take them to get others in that loved ones family to wake up and realize that life is to short that they need to change there ways beore there gone as well or it may be because God has a purpose for that person in heaven this is one question that will have not one solid answer there will be many an answer and i belive that there would most likely be know wroung answer as well because each one has there own belives on what a calling from God is
to me my calling from God was given to me 13 years ago when i use to use drugs and my daughter was born under the influence because of my usage durin g pregnancy i wanted help but did not know where to turn to for help and i probaly wasnt ready for the help , but when i wasnt able to take her home with me god made me realize that i needed to get my act together so i can get my daughter back as well as get my family back on the right track , with Gods help i was able to get my daugghter back adn stay clean thus far for 13 in a half years
