The 2 things that will help you more than anything are reading and a daily word program (selecting a new word at random from the dictionary every day, learning its definition and using it whenever possible; a word-a-day calendar). Additionally, you can Use Merriam-Webster's on-line dictionary http://m-w.com to select any word in their database and click on the audio link to hear the proper pronunciation for the word. Practicing these methods can vastly increase your vocab skills.
Other than these practices, there are websites devoted to teaching you new words and their meanings (do a Yahoo! search using terms such as "vocabulary quizzes", "vocabulary builder" or "vocabulary or English tutoring").
I have excellent grammar skills myself and may be able to help you in my spare time if all else fails.

Any free time you have go to the library and try to find books that will help you improve your vocabulary. Like, a book just for vocabulary improvement. Or you could get on your computer and find a website that you think will help you improve your vocabulary. If these don't work just think of a new way that you are comfortable with.

Read! Reading is the best thing you can do. I used to read a lot of books when I was a preteen that as I got older, I began speaking with a high vocabulary. Everyone thought I was a smartey pants lol. My grammer and my writing became quite good as I became good at reading because I spent a lot of free time reading. Good luck!

Start reading publications and periodicals that use words that you're not familiar with. When you come across a word that you cannot define, take an index card, write down the word and its definition from a dictionary. Soon you'll have a stack of cards that you can use to quiz yourself thereby increasing your knowledge and vocabulary.

Read a lot. When you come across a word you don't know, write it down, look up the definition, and review it until you remember it.

Read, read and read. If you encounter a word you don't know, don't be shy to look it up in the dictionary. It is only in knowing what you don't know that you begin to learn.
