Good foods........ meat, veggies, fruits. raw fresh diet is great. bad for dogs .......... Grapes and Raisins: Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. As little as a single serving of raisins can kill a dog
Onions: Onions destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia.
Chocolate: Chocolate can cause seizures, coma and death. Baker’s chocolate is the most dangerous. A dog can consume milk chocolate and appear to be fine because it is not as concentrated, but it is still dangerous.
Coffee, Coffee grounds, tea and tea bags: Drinks/foods containing caffeine cause many of the same symptoms chocolate causes
Macadamia Nuts: Macadamia nuts can cause weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis.
Animal fat and fried foods: Excessive fat can cause pancreatitis. Avocados: The fruit, pit and plant are all toxic. They can cause difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation in the chest, abdomen and heart
I feed my dogs the raw diet as i believe it is better for them than commercial foods. I have a sheltie that is 19 years old in people years and she has been fed the raw diet all her life. The only time i have had vet bills is for shots and wormings.

Generally the inclusion of Wheat in Dog Food has caused the sickest generation of pets the world has every seen. This glue containing grain was never part of their natural, carnivorous diet.
Consider what a wild wolf might eat. The genetic similarity between the two species is actually 97% identical. Even humans did not consume wheat, in its present form, until less than a thousand years ago. The gluten content has risen from 4% to up to 55% in Canadian Hard Winter Wheat. Generally it would be a good idea to put your animal on a canless raw diet, with additives like nutritional yeast, kelp, and perhaps some bone meal. Go to a natural pet food place to discuss your options. It will save you thousands in medical bills down the road, and ultimately, your happier and healthier pet will repay you many times over.

A list of good 'human food' is anything you would eat and consider healthy; but not cooked. Also, carbs are bad for dogs. Most meats, eggs, and vegetables are ok if not good for dogs to eat as long as it remains uncooked. Fruits are ok in small quantities but some contain chemicals which can become toxic in high doses (like grapes, a few are ok but you don't want your dog to eat a whole bag.) Beans (green) are really good for overweight dogs.

Bad foods are candies, carbs like bread and pasta are ok in small quantities, but you want to avoid large amounts. Any chocolate or anything you would consider 'bad for humans' is usually bad for dogs too.

Keep in mind dogs need a much higher ratio of protein and fat compared to humans, and a much lower ratio of carbs and sugars. And cooked foods are bad for dogs.

Hot peppers are bad like onions and chocolate and bones. One product people haven't mentioned is pet treats. Do not buy ones imported from other countries because the dog can get salmonella from products improperly prepared or processed. When buying dog snacks like cookies, make sure there is no animal fat in them. IT IS CONTROVERSIAL AT THIS POINT WHETHER DOGS SHOULD CONSUME "Greenies".The company has several lawsuits pending. There is a great line of snacks/cookies called "Exclusively DOG Cookies" whose products are nearly all kosher. Hope this is helpful.

GOOD- Rice, chicken, beef, yogurt when they're sick.

BAD- Onions, CHOCOLATE, anything really fatty basically, they can't handle it. Oh and any kind of nuts, (peanuts, almonds, etc) They can encounter alergies. And chicken bones (when they bit it, it causes sharp edges, which can get stuck in their throat and they can die.

Be careful what you feed them. They're little bodies can't handle much
