online charter schools?

Question

can anyone give me any information about online charter schools? i homeschool my children now, and was interested in a charter school where they learn online and is free of charge. i live in connecticut. do they take anyone? don't know much about it. any information will be appreciated. thanks in advance :)

I presently have my kids enrolled in an oline charter school. The curriculum is great, but there is a downside if you have more than one child. Since it is a charter school, it is also a "public" school, and thus how it is "free". Because of its being a public school, you have to attend the same amount of hours (per child) as in a bricks and mortar school. So, if you have a child with special needs,etc. that needs one on one help, you may run into a problem meeting the hourly requirements, if you spend more time teaching that child and then have to teach another AFTER that one. They DO track your hours/progress. If your child finishes all their school material for the year, yet doesn't meet the hours required (if they are quick learners), they will still fail based on their attendance..not their work. This is a MAJOR downside in my opinion. However, this is a great choice for schooling one child or multiple children without any learning problems...as you can combine subjects and teach them all at the same time.

I have enrolled my son in this homeschooling course. U get everything free including a computer and printer. All u do is provide monthly internet service. I have really like this program so far... u have quarte meetings with the teacher and monthly outings. They even have a yearbook for the students.
