Yes. If she files a claim for back child support. You as the Father should have volunteered to help take care of your child.

First: If you have questions about the paternity make sure the kid is yours before you pay a dime.

Second: If it has been past 5 years (at least 5 and one day) the likely hood that you have to pay back child support for all 5 is slim.

There are many Father's Rights groups, most work for little to know money and provide you with a lawyer (often probono..depends on your financial situation). Check to see hwere one is near you and call for an appointment and soem advice.

The law in most states say that if you were married at the time the child was born, you are responsible financially. Ususally that will include the first 5 years as well. If you were not married, ask for a paternity test, if you are unsure of the parenting. If you do not and later down the line you have questions, it will come back to haunt you.

Shame on you for thinking the woman needs to ask for child support. That money isn't going in her pocket, it's going to feed and support YOUR child. You certainly owe the back 5 years, and for the good of the child, you should pay it.

It depends on the state. In Illinois if the mother is persistent then yes, they will go back as far as she wants. Also depending on whether the 2 parents were married or not. If there are past due medical bills then the father can also been held responsible for those also. If you become deliquent in child support, which you could start out in arrears(past due) they can also hold you income tax return the pay the past due amount. Also, if you do not support another family, they will withhold at least 20percent of you paycheck after taxes. Good luck

I am led to believe that if there was no child support order then no. If she was on State assistance then probably yes. I had full custody, never asked for support, then years later needed food stamps, they ordered child support, but only from when I went on assistance...Not the previous time.

Depends on your lawyer. She can in some cases and get it unless she admits to not asking for it. Just be ready when she says you owe her for 5 years back pay.

Depends on what state you are in, but more than Likely, YES.
Anyway, why wouldn't you want to support your children? They are YOUR children, right?
